First pregnancy. Would have been 10 weeks tomorrow.

I started with some brown bleeding last weekend and pain in my lower pelvis. Had a scan on Monday and they said there was no sac. There was a "clot like structure" in my uterus that they said may have been the fertilised egg that had shrivelled/not developed. My lining was also thick.

They took some bloods and repeated them twice during the week. My HCG levels are still rising and are 70,000ish as of today but they can't find a pregnancy anywhere (checked the fallopian tubes etc). In the meantime, my bleeding has got a little heavier but not as heavy as a period.

They also did an internal and said my cervix is closed and there's no fresh blood there so the bleeding I'm having must be old blood?

I've been told to go back for another scan next week to compare but noone seems to have the time to explain anything.

Appreciate its a weird one but wanted to see if anyone had had anything similar and how it ended up treatment-wise? I just want it to be over now.

Appreciate it was quiet over here but just incase it helps anyone in the future, I had a molar pregnancy which was surgically removed.

It's pretty rare but emphasises the importance of getting early scans (Even if that's your 12 week-er)

Hi OP

I'm so sorry to hear you're going through this. Hugs to you.

I had exactly this the first time.
It's heartbreaking, draining and upsetting and your hormones will be all over the place.

I found it reassuring to learn that it's extremely common.
It doesn't mean it will happen again. It's just something that happens sometimes in nature. I went on to have two beautiful children soon afterwards.

Look after yourself, give your body time to heal. Rest. Cry. Eat chocolate.
Take care x

You might just be finished bleeding? Have they told you to come back for further scans?

JacketPotatoFoodOfTheGods · 24/05/2024 05:53

Sorry just re read your message and can see that you have been asked to
come back. They're probably just checking everything has cleared out.

Hi @JacketPotatoFoodOfTheGods thanks for the very lovely message. With them knowing it was a molar pregnancy not just a miscarriage, I have to have some monitoring over the next couple of months but hopefully the surgery was the end of it
