TTC after miscarriage

Hi ladies, I’m currently (hopefully) at the end of an early loss, baby was 6.5weeks and I think I’ve passed all/most of the tissue etc and bleeding had started slowing down and changing to a more brown colour….
I’m looking for advice from people who have conceived straightaway… I know you can conceive 2 weeks after a miscarriage, BUT do you have to wait for a negative test or is it ok to try even when you still have a positive line?
I have no pain or anything and won’t start trying until bleeding has definitely stopped (to prevent infection) but I’ve seen that many people have said they didn’t get a negative test until 6-10weeks later and I don’t want to wait that long.. so have people done it without waiting for that negative test???🙏🏻

This is my test today: for reference I started spotting lightly 8 days ago, period like bleeding started 4 days ago and large clots and definite tissue etc passed yesterday morning…

any advice welcome! Many thanks 🥰

@ThelastRolo20 honestly didn’t expect any different from a GP, also they had no clue why I’d come for an appointment as if I hadn’t explained it all on the phone when booking it but nope they didn’t bother to write a note for why I’d come in 🤦‍♀️
She also asked if it was my first pregnancy and I said no I’ve got a kid and she goes ‘Oh you’ve already got one that’s fine then’ and I was like erm yeahh but I want another🙄

And nope no blood test, said there’s no point if I’m having a scan tomorrow🙃
So classic GP waste of time appointment. At least tomorrow will be productive hopefully

@Mommabear96 so sorry that's how she treated you, absolutely ridiculous. Have you managed to find a way to get to your scan okay? How's the bleeding at the moment? X

Mommabear96 · 15/04/2024 20:39

@ThelastRolo20 yeah was a bit of an awkward patronising conversation but totally never expect any compassion from the GPs sure they’ll be much nicer tomorrow….
yeah hopefully getting the train there but half of them are striking!🤦‍♀️ so hoping for a tiny bit of luck in life right now lol.

Bleeding has pretty much stopped today, barely anything yesterday either. But painful belly today! Kinda alright when I’m still but when I walk around it’s pretty painful so idk what that means🤷🏼‍♀️ I thought if the bleeding had stopped then the pain would too so but if a weird one…

@ThelastRolo20 had my scan! Obviously knew that I wasn’t pregnant anymore, but they said the sac is still there and measuring 4.5 weeks but I should be 8.5weeks so guess it stopped growing then?…
My bleeding has stopped so they’ve said I still need to pass the sac but they won’t give me anything to pass it cos they’re like ‘come back for another scan next week and let’s see if it’s gotten bigger or not’ 🙃

@Mommabear96 oh god I'm so sorry how frustrating! Especially when you know it's not a viable pregnancy and the amount of bleeding you've had.

Guess they have to tick all the boxes though. How are you feeling about it all? X

Mommabear96 · 16/04/2024 13:20

They just kept saying you must’ve got your dates wrong so you’re just early along we don’t think it’s a miscarriage.
But I told them I’m 110% on dates because I ovulation tested and got my 1st positive at 8dpo start of March so am definitely not only 4 weeks along (which would technically be 2 weeks since conception anyway) so very frustrating🙄🙄

I’m fine just annoyed when I know what’s happening… going to high dose myself with raspberry tea to try contract out anything that’s left behind 🙃 just want to be clear to start TTC again!

@Mommabear96 I get it. I knew my dates via OPKs and had a positive test 10 days later. So when I was measuring 2 weeks behind I told them it wasn't viable. On my second visit they tried to tell me that as there was only one sonographer on site, I'd have to go back again as they need two to confirm. I outright refused to come back and they then got a consultant to see me instead.

It's so difficult when we know what's going on and they're not listening! X

Mommabear96 · 16/04/2024 17:39

Yeah don’t think I’m going to bother going back for a scan, took over an hour to get there, cost an arm and a leg on the train just to be told nonsense.
Told you must’ve conceived 2 weeks ago, but firstly I haven’t had sex in a month and secondly I got my first positive test 7 weeks ago😐😐😐 hopefully these blood tests will confirm falling hcg, I also think my pregnancy test was slightly fainter today so think things are moving along…

ThelastRolo20 · 16/04/2024 18:59

@Mommabear96 fingers crossed but if no major change in two weeks you may need to go back before you get an infection 😞 it's ridiculous they didn't confirm it today for you x

Mommabear96 · 16/04/2024 19:37

@ThelastRolo20 yep it’s like they just didn’t believe all the info I was telling them. My bleeding has pretty much stopped but I have been getting little flecks of something coming out every wipe so I would assume that’s this ‘sac’ or whatever it is slowly coming out. Will do this next blood test and keep doing pregnancy tests for a couple weeks and yes if it’s not going down enough then I’ll go back for another scan 🙃

@ThelastRolo20 so I got my HCG blood test results
Tue: 1375
Thu: 1050

I know they say it should go down by around 50% every 48hrs but does that decline seem normal to you? Hoping to keep things going naturally but don’t want it to take foreverrrr😫

ThelastRolo20 · 20/04/2024 07:00

@Mommabear96 it's going in the right direction! I never had blood tests to check but I think everyone's is at different paces.

Are they going to do any follow up ones?

Mommabear96 · 20/04/2024 07:42

@ThelastRolo20 cool thank you. Erm they haven’t said anything lol, just posted my results online late last night. Guessing they might call me today, but also knowing them, wouldn’t be surprised to not hear anything from them 😅🤦‍♀️

Think I’ll just track with home tests and if they aren’t too faint soon then I’ll book in for another blood test to check.

ThelastRolo20 · 24/04/2024 15:20

Hey @Mommabear96 how are you getting on? X

Mommabear96 · 24/04/2024 15:54

@ThelastRolo20 heys thanks for checking in. Getting there slowly I think😫🤞🏻
After my last bloods (when it dropped by 300) the EPI said would I rather do another blood test to check progress rather than going all the way there for a scan so I said yeah, told me yesterday to book a b.test for today. Phoned GP and they said they can next see me in a months time🤣 and I said absolutely not and they said ok we’ll do it tomorrow 🙄 so had another b.test today and awaiting the results, hopefully a bigger drop this time! Had a break in bleeding for about 4 days then had a tiny bit of spotting the last 2 days sooo idk guess there’s a tiny bit of something still trying to come out?
My home pregnancy tests are definitely getting lighter though so we’re getting there I think. Just really hoping it works out without needing any intervention and hurries up!🤞🏻 x

Mommabear96 · 24/04/2024 20:32

@ThelastRolo20
down to 490 today, so trickling down slowly 😴
a week ago they were 1300 then when GP called today to discuss these results she says not sure if from that I can say whether you’re having a miscarriage or not 🙄🤦‍♀️ I was like erm noo that pretty obvious isn’t it xx

OP posts:
ThelastRolo20 · 24/04/2024 21:01

@Mommabear96 bloody hell what more do you need for it to be a miscarriage? So sorry about that, it doesn't make it easier xx

Mommabear96 · 24/04/2024 22:32

@ThelastRolo20 yep! It’s ok, luckily for them I’m emotionally strong and already come to terms with it all, just want it to hurry up.
But yes very frustrating for at first being told ‘you’re just on your period’ to it then being ‘nah you’re pregnant just maybe progressing (even though declining) slowly’🙄 all while I knew exactly what was really happening…. I knew it would be like this, only wanted the first blood test to confirm it was going down but now apparently trapped in a never ending parade with them😫 x

@Mommabear96 I see it! That's great news 😍🤩 how are you feeling?

I'm 10 weeks pregnant myself! I've had a few scans as I'm anxious following two MMCs, I have another scan tomorrow as it's this week that my first MC happened x

Mommabear96 · 22/06/2024 09:14

@ThelastRolo20 yay glad you’re doing well too! Hope it all goes well tomorrow!🥰

I’m excited but obviously nervous too as everything was all fine last time until 6 weeks so don’t think I’ll be able to rest and be assured until we’ve had the 12 week scan but sending myself positive vibes aha and to you!🤞🏻🩷🩷
