Just clutching at straws now
Second miscarriage
Have a DS who is nearly 2 so very privileged
Just didn't think I'd be going through it again..
Started spotting 5-6 days ago , more red and more volume as of today
EPU scan booked tomorrow
I know there's no hope but just wanted to cling onto some for 12 hours :/

I lost a lot of bright red blood in the 14th week of my pregnancy, at least a heavy periods worth if not more. It turned out I had a huge fibroid (over 10cm) which was disintegrating and causing the bleeding, I spent almost 8 months on bedrest and bled on and off for months but the baby was fine and was born at term.
Wishing you the very best xxx

@MamaBear878 I'm sorry, if it is bad news know you aren't alone. I have a 2 year old and I'm recovering from my second miscarriage.

Really hope for a good outcome for you though x

MamaBear878 · 05/02/2024 18:28

@MouseKeys so pleased it was all well for you, thank you for taking the time to reply

@ThelastRolo20 I'm so sorry you're also going through the same. Hug your toddler tight, I'm finding that helps. Thank you for your kind message.

I had a bright red heavy bleeding at around 12 weeks with my first. They never did find an explanation and everything turned out fine.

I had a lighter bleed around the same time I should have had my period when I fell pregnant with my second, again no explanation and everything was fine.

It seems some women just do have some bleeding, that's how they explained it to me anyway.

MamaBear878 · 05/02/2024 19:30

@MigGirl thank you for your reply. That's so lovely to hear you had no issues despite the bleed. I think the fact that I have no symptoms makes me think this is it but it's good for future readers of this thread to have some hope through your story :)

Just to update - there was a HB. Need to rescan in 2 weeks to check progressing well!

Update - massive clots and period like cramps after getting home. No longer good news it would seem

I had a huge bleed at 6 weeks, clots and pain and gushing blood. This was my sixth embryo transfer and I was devastated. Had a glass of wine, cried for days, had my follow a couple of days later to check but I knew there was no hope. It was a huge subchoronic (?) haematoma- had to rest until it resolved and it was a scary scary time. At 12 weeks it was gone and all plain sailing. That little miracle is 18months now!

MamaBear878 · 06/02/2024 17:54

@JacquiDaytona I'm so pleased you had such a good outcome! Unfortunately they couldn't see a haematoma on my scan so I don't think mine will be the same :/

I'm so sorry you're going through this. I bled and cramped so heavily after my 7 week scan that I was sure that there was no way I could still be pregnant, to the point where I almost didn't bother going to the scan at 9 weeks because I knew they were gone. They (twins) are currently in their beds fast asleep. No SCH visible, just low lying placentas which they think caused the bleeds. I continued to bleed until about 12/13 weeks from memory.

By contrast I had two miscarriages and didn't bleed with either of those at all.

MamaBear878 · 06/02/2024 20:27

@HouseNoMore thank you so much for giving me a glimmer of hope. I feel so terrified to hold onto hope. I'm so happy everything worked out for you!

I had pretty heavy bleeds on and off between 7 and 11 weeks with my third and fourth pregnancies. They’re now 10 and 11 years old. Fingers crossed.

HmmmNah · 06/02/2024 20:35

I had major bleeding at 8 weeks with my second pregnancy. It was a subchorionic hematoma, like a PP. It went on for weeks on end. My daughter survived and is now 6.

They did say to me that generally bleeding without significant pain was a 'good' sign. A miscarriage would likely be painful. I guess every pregnancy is different though.

Fingers and toes crossed for you!

MamaBear878 · 06/02/2024 20:40

@HmmmNah @Howmanysleepsnow thank you so much for sharing!

I have cramps like a period now so I'm terrified to "hope". The clots have stopped however. I just don't know why they couldn't see anything on the scan. The consultant thoroughly checked everything! Ahh it is what it is I guess.

Thanks for your wishes. Will update regardless!

I also had subcronionic hematoma and bled heavily with my first pregnancy. Sudden gushes of blood. A strange ache sensation in uterus. Did lots of bed rest. She’s now 12. Really wish you all the very best. Xx

Namechange600 · 06/02/2024 21:05

I also had miscarriages and the main difference between the two was the stop start nature of sub chronic hematoma and the miscarriages started and kept going if that makes sense. Wishing you all the best xxx

PurpleBugz · 06/02/2024 21:29

Oh bless you it's hard.

I had lots of bleeding and clots was sure I was miscarrying as I'd had one before. Hospital said yes a miscarriage come back for a scan in a few days to make sure nothing retained. Scan showed I'd lost a twin but one remained. Regularly bled throughout the whole pregnancy. Child is now 7.

MamaBear878 · 06/02/2024 21:31

Thank you very much @PurpleBugz and @Namechange600 ! Very kind of you to message. So pleased to hear positive outcomes. Currently sat on the bad cramping and wishing all of this to be over if it's bad news. But you all give me hope. I'm daring to hope!

So sorry for you, miscarriage and pregnancy after miscarriage is so hard.
I did have bright red spotting with my eldest DD though at 8-12 weeks so wait and see what the scan says x

MamaBear878 · 07/02/2024 01:49

Thank you @MamPadi
Initial scan showed heartbeat but came home and started flooding pads with clots
So I don't have any hope now :/
Will ask for rescan
