Hi,

I just need advice.
I did 2 pregnancy tests in 2 weeks.
First one a cheap test. Showed negative.
However this week I did a clear blue which showed a faint posetive line. I was 5 days late on my period and was experiencing mild signs of pregnancy.

I already have 1 child of 9years. (Pregancy was smooth. No issues.)
My periods are regular every 26 days.

Yesterday morning, (3 days after taking the 2nd test which showed a potential faint line) I started getting lower back pain. Cramps. And spotting.
I thought nothing much of it to begin with. But the cramps escalated and I ages in the bathroom in pain. I started having dark clots and bleeding. (Sorry pictures below) The cramps were getting intense in my back, hips and legs.
Since then I've had heavy on and off bleeding. Still with the odd clot here and there. The pain has subsided alot. But I still have cramps.

I am unsure whether or not I have miscarried or I'm just having a heavy period Where my period was late.

Has anyone ever experienced this? Or have any idea whether they believe this is an early miscarriage or not?. I have a doctors appointment mid next week anyway. But wanted advise before hand.

Nell x

It could be an early miscarriage. The clot looks similar to the one my daughter passed after taking tablets to induce an abortion and it sounds as though if you were pregnant, it would be very early stages.

Hi Cariadlet,

Thank you for your reply.
I estimated that I could have been around the 2 week marker if I was pregnant.

With it being the weekend there is nothing I can do except wait until next week. So thank you for your reply.

Sorry to hear you're going through this.

Yes it looks like a miscarriage if you had a positive test but now are bleeding. There's nowhere for hcg (the hormone the test is testing for) to come from except a pregnancy. If it's miscarriage rather than just a heavy period then if you take a pregnancy test now it will still show faintly positive. It takes a little bit of time for hcg to leave your system. Do you have any of the cheap easy at home test strips you can get off eBay or Amazon?

They will likely still show a faint positive if it was a pregnancy.

I think you are having a very early miscarriage. Condolences.

Hi Sloggingonagain,

Thank you for your reply.

I don't have any tests to hand tonight and have been bed bound most of the evening due to back pain and cramps and heavy bleeding, but will most deffinatly be getting one tomorrow.

Thank you for you advice.
I will keep the post updated when I know more.
