When did you get a negative pregnancy test after medical management of MMC?

I found out that I had a MMC at a scan at 10 weeks. I then tried to wait for the miscarriage to happen naturally. It didn’t and so I had medical management. Two weeks on I still have a positive pregnancy test. When will this be negative? How long before you had a negative pregnancy test?

Sorry for your loss. I started a thread with the same question a week or so ago! Am in a very similar position to you.

I had medical management following MMC at 8.5 weeks - it was via surgery on 4th December. I did a pregnancy test this morning and there is just the faintest trace of a line there still at 2 and half weeks. I reckon it’ll be totally gone within a couple days which will mean it’s taken around 3 weeks. That is what I was advised would happen and that’s what most women said they experienced themselves.

I’m sorry you’re going through this. After medical management I was advised to take a test after 3 weeks and if still positive then would need a scan to see if retained products of pregnancy due to risk of infection (which unfortunately in my case there was so had more medical management and ultimately surgical management).

I would give it to the full 3 weeks before contacting EPU, as it can also take time for hcg to leave your system
