and she is pooing herself as it is 3 weeks till the scan and she hasn't had any support from midwives/docs. She had 2 healthy pg, then in the summer she went for 12 wk scan and baby had stopped growing at 9 wks. Now she is pg and so anxious I wish i could help reassure her in some way. I thought there were probably some mners out there with similar experiences and wondered if you could suggest anythig? Many thanks.

She might know this, but to put her mind at rest she could pay for an early scan privately. I had a missed miscarriage about three years ago and did that, then insisted that I had an early scan next time I got PG. (I now have a DD aged 18 months, hurrah). They did do it at local early pregnancy unit (at UCH), but if not, find out local private clinic. Costs about £120 which is nothing compared to mental sanity for 3 weeks over 3 weeks of anxiety.

I miscarried at 11 weeks in Dec 06, baby had stopped growing at 8 wks. The pregnancy was a bit of a surprise although I was gutted when I lost it, 8 weeks later I was pregnant again, I was anxious as well. I gave birth to my ds exactly one year after I had a eprc. Just reassure her, plenty of people have a healthy pregnancy after a mc.

she will be going through such a worrying tie at the moment. I had two MCs before having my DD last June, and I don't think I stopped worrying until she was safely in my arms.

and that was after an early scan (6+3 weeks) at the epu when I saw the heartbeat, followed by a private scan at 10 weeks cos my pg symptoms disappeared, then my dating scan at 14 weeks. I still worried myself silly.

She obviously isn't a MNetter, but if she joined she could come and speak to us on the pregnancy after miscarriage thread in the pregnancy topic, and share those worries. there are lots of women on there who have had the same/similar experiences and are going through the same anguish, and there are lots of positive stories and happy outcomes

Thanks ladies. I am going to print this off and give it to her, or send her a link and make her join! I have had a mc myself many years ago, but it wa sa regular one and it is even harder to reassure her when she had no symptoms, iyswim? Thanks again.
