TMI Surgical management last month and bleeding after sex

I had a MMC and had surgical management on the 26th of April and The last thing on my mind was sex but last night we decided to try as my body felt healed as it’s been nearly 4 weeks but about an hour or two after I had some bright red blood never thought anything of it as we hadn’t had sex since my MMC so thought it might just have been irritation but woke up this morning to quite a heavy bleed with the water turning bright red when I pee. Can anyone tell me if this happened to them? Or could it just be my period and it’s a coincidence?

Did you get an advice leaflet when you were discharged - was there a number to call/advice about bleeding?

If not I'd contact GP.
Keep a note of symptoms.

I didn’t have any of that so I can’t help with advice. I can say that my period returned 4.5weeks after surgery.

Did you take a pregnancy test a few weeks later and get a negative just to make sure it was fully complete and nothing left behind? Also as pp said you could contact your gp. Your epu might even offer quick advice if you call and explain you had the surgery 4x weeks ago, such as if it’s to be expected or to visit gp?
