Hi, just got an appointment for beginning of July in Coventry.

It's following our third miscarriage, what should I expect from the first appointment please?

Thanks @Ttcafterlosses - she was absolutely lovely. Is treating me for APS so hopefully that will help. 🤞🏼🤞🏼

Hi everyone, I also have an appointment with Professor Quenby in a few weeks. Has anyone had issues getting blood tests? I was sent a form to get a list done, when I arrived at the blood test clinic they said they needed a different form but my GP has said they can’t help? I am not local to Coventry so can’t attend the hospital for bloods. I’ve emailed the secretary but wondered if anyone had the same experience?

Hey @Melbro7 I'm also under professor Quenby, the form they sent advises to book bloods via a website but it didn't work for me. In the end I had to ask my GP multiple times to do the bloods the nurse was reluctant to as she said they aren't routine and she wasn't sure she had all the blood bottles! I'm a nurse myself and knew there was a system that matches the bloods to the bottles needed.. Hope you managed to get them done 🙂

Hi did anyone take part in the cerm trial with professor quenby? How did it go? I have been to proff quenby before and my bloods came back fine apart from high thyroid antibodies which she told me not to worry about. Ive had a further 2 MCs since, ive had five in total now in the last 10 months. Four chemicals and one at 12 weeks due to a subchorionic haematoma. I have a little boy already who is 2 1/2 and he was born via emergency c section. Im interested in the cerm trial as i think this is something that could potentially help me, but they are closed to applicants now so ill need to wait till the results are published and decision made next year. Can anyone help me with some insights? Or just any advice would be welcome

Good luck guys. This popped up in Active. I had my dds after 3 mcs. I ended up seeing a consultant privately to speed things up and found out dh had a balanced translocation of 2 chromosomes which was causing the mcs in 50% of pregnancies. My 4th and 5th pregnancies were my dds.

Just wondering how quickly her Secretary respond to people?
I emailed last week to ask about being referred either privately or how we do it from wales (as I think I'm screwed as I don't live in England basically) and no response 8 days later....

Greenvelvetdress · 15/11/2023 09:32

She replied pretty quickly to me everytime, maybe try send it again?

Thanks, I rang and discovered the Tommy's website is out of date and she is no longer her secretary hence not replying, but I feel it would have been polite to reply to me to say this.

I realise this is an old thread, but I’ve been trying to get in touch with Prof Quenby’s secretary and I have been told that she doesn’t accept private referrals anymore. I will ask my GP for one but he’s very flippant about my early losses, so I doubt I will be successful. Does anyone know of other specialists who focus on the same things as Prof Q? Thank you!

Rabbitjungle1 · 01/02/2024 17:41

I dont know of others, @Pupsandturtles, but can you request to see a different GP if he's particularly difficult? The referral doesn't have to come from your assigned GP, it could come from any GP at your practice.

As an aside, perhaps you should consider speaking to the practice manager if you feel your GP isn't providing you with the support you should be receiving after your losses.

Greenvelvetdress · 02/02/2024 22:43

@Pupsandturtles so sorry to hear this. How many losses have you had? Like the PP said try a different GP, Dr Quenby should see you after 3 losses on the NHS. Fingers crossed you get the referral.

@Greenvelvetdress how are you getting on? I’m going to Prof Quenby in December after 3 back to back losses in the last 7 months. Is she helpful? Did you feel valued?

Apologies for all the questions!
