What on earth is happening to my period after loss?! Very worried

Had a light period that lasted 2-3 days exactly 5 weeks after the loss. Usually I have longer periods so this wasn’t like me

Anyway now on cycle day 19 and I have just started heavily bleeding again? This is most unlike me I am always regular 28/29 days. Terrified my fertility has somehow been affected. Is this normal?

Hi, I’m so sorry for your loss ❤️ unfortunately I can’t offer experience as I had a missed miscarriage just over a week ago and still bleeding from my operation. However, the nurses did explain to me that periods should return within 4 to 8 weeks of your miscarriage, although it may take several months to settle into a regular cycle. So I would speak to your Gp if you’re concerned but your body has been through a lot and your hormones will still be affected so fingers crossed it starts to settle for you, i have been reassured that it’s highly unlikely to affected your fertility and future pregnancies, majority of women do go on to have healthy pregnancies following a miscarriage - take care x
