Can low progesterone cause a pregnancy to not grow properly?

I can’t find much information online about fetal / embryonic growth in early pregnancy and progesterone.
I realise it can cause problems with implantation and so on and can drop with miscarriage anyway. But can low progesterone itself cause a pregnancy to have below expected growth if the progesterone just starts dropping lower?
I have been given progesterone pessaries after previous MCs but my symptoms dropped off around a week ago and it’s measuring a lot behind where it should be
I’m just wondering if low progesterone can be behind the poor measurements ? It’s about a week behind where it should be
(Clutching at straws a bit that it could somehow catch up and be ok) thanks

yes progesterone is the hormone ‘pro- gestation’ it’s the hormone the baby needs for growth. If you have naturally low levels for example due to a hormone imbalance or due to being on the pill for a long time it can cause recurrent miscarriages. I myself recurrent miscarriages and then had a successful pregnancy taking cylcogest from my BFP. I don’t think it was a coincidence
