Progesterone - how long were/are you on it for?

Hi everyone. After 3 miscarriages and a previous birth that was very low birth weight, I'm now pregnant and on aspirin (150) until 36 weeks and progesterone (2 x 400mg) per day until 16 weeks. I thought I'd be on progesterone so much longer though, has anyone else been in a similar position? How long were you on progesterone for? I'm terrified of stopping tbh! Thanks for any advice. Also hope this can give someone else some hope after miscarriage. It's all going well so far

After 16 weeks the placenta organ is fully formed so produces progesterone instead of the corpus luteam. Before 12 weeks the progesterone is supplementing the corpus luteam which degenerates at about 12 weeks when the placenta has already taken over. 16 weeks is possibly being overly cautious, but I can totally understand why you are nervous to come off it! www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC9066946/

I've just been given progesterone after a scan at 6w3d so really hoping it helps make a difference as I know my progesterone levels were lowish.

I was on 2 pessaries and one injection per day until week 13. Good luck!
