Swollen lower stomach 1 month after early miscarriage

Hello. I am new to this website and I really am in need of reassurance or explanation. I miscarried a month ago. It was an early pregnancy but I'm unsure of how far on I was because I'd had no scan. The furthest along I'd have possibly been would be 2 months though. The pregnancy was a surprise, in fact the miscarriage was the only reason I knew about it. I am really concerned about the level of bloating I'm seeing in my stomach, sometimes it's hard and I look pregnant. It is sometimes so swollen!! Is this normal and more importantly, will my body go back to normal? How long will it take for the belly to go? It protrudes just where my belly button is... and sometimes my entire waist is swollen too. I'm in recovery for an eating disorder so this is really impacting my mental state. I've been going to the gym, cut out alcohol and I'm calorie controlled (healthily) for the past 6 weeks so I should be losing weight (rectifying binge eating and drinking). I usually have, or did have, a flat stomach. Please can anyone let me know if this is normal after an early miscarriage? X

Have you done another pregnancy test?

How sure are you about the miscarriage fully passing? If the miscarriage passed naturally you might need to check there's nothing left of the pregnancy still, unfortunately this is possible - contact the GP and arrange a scan to ensure everything has passed.

Thank you for replying so quickly. My hormone levels had dropped to 7 when they dismissed me (concern re ectopic at first).. I have since done three test, the first was incredibly faint positive, the second was from my GP surgery and was negative and I've just taken one an hour ago and was negative. Interesting re not passing it all.. how would they be able to tell?

You'd need a scan for them to check. If it's not all passed it could be dangerous as a high chance of infection.

The early pregnancy unit isn't open over the weekend, how urgent is it that I go to be checked?

I haven't had any bleeding after the miscarriage, surely it must all be gone?

Google NHS retained product of conception.
