Can you tell if you're having a missed miscarriage?

I've got my 12 weeks scan soon and really scared.

No sweetheart you can't...that's the horrid thing about them. Is there a particular reason you are worried, or "just" generally worried?

I think not always, and everybody is different. I didn't know until I started spotting, which wasn't until 2 weeks after the pregnancy had stopped. Some people don't find out until they have a scan. Looking back now I think I knew deep down something wasn't right at the time, just a feeling of not feeling 'pregnant enough', but others can go through whole healthy pregnancies with no symptoms so that's not really something to go off either. It really is an individual experience. I really hope everything goes well at your scan, the chances are everything will be absolutely fine x

I wasnt able to tell. Bump was growing, I was still having all the symptoms and continued to have symptoms until a few days post d&c. I’m sure all is well with your little bean! Enjoy your scan ❤️

I was able to tell in both cases as bleeding started and I found out the pregnancy had ended a week or two earlier. It is most likely though that all will be ok x

No you can’t tell, hence ‘missed’. I have had 3 and only found out at my scans. However, I did just have a feeling for the last 2 - and actually requested early scans. I’m sure everything will be ok, try not to stress yourself and good luck x

I knew I had one before the scan. Had an awful dream. Think it was my body telling me. I had such a strong feeling before the dream

No, you can’t. My sister had one last year, is pregnant again and felt just the same both times (sick as a dog). Her 12 week scan was totally healthy. Good luck with yours.

No. Bleeding can happen weeks after the actual loss. Symptoms can continue for weeks post miscarriage. Morning sickness whilst actively miscarrying horrible.

Hope all goes well at your scan and you can find some peace and excitement.

I had a missed miscarriage and I could tell, my body suddenly changed, as if someone had flicked off a switch.

The missed part, I was told later was because my body hadn't bleed, if you get my drift.

Hopefully for you everything will be ok at your scan op

I knew with both. Not sure how 🤷🏻‍♀️

I knew, again not sure how, but I was not at all surprised at 13 week scan when MMC was confirmed.
