TW In the middle of miscarriage 😩

I’m having my first miscarriage 😭 I’m in agony with the pain radiating from my tummy into my lower back and a crashing headache. It feels like being in labour only I feel totally weak and out of it. Started two hours ago when I was cleaning up my son’s vomit.

Is it reasonable to ask my husband to stay home tomorrow given that my son is too unwell for school and will need caring for (he’s five) and we have a 19m-old at home? Just not sure I’m going to be up to it and not sure if I’ll need medical assistance… It’s a big deal for him to take time off as he’s a teacher 😞

Is it not inset day for kids tomorrow so training day for teachers? Of course it wouldn't be unreasonable to ask him to stay. You're having a miscarriage! You need help and support for yourself and your sick child. Have you rang the hospital? Try taking some painkillers to help the pains that's what I did and try to rest. I'm so sorry you're having to deal with this and sorry for your loss. I've been there and here if you need to talk.

Hi I'm so sorry , you need to look after yourself . Not unreasonable to ask DH to be off tomorrow ! You will need help . You need to get some advice . How many weeks are you ? It's very distressing , I've also been there myself . I rang the midwife when I was bleeding. She booked scan at early pregnancy unit to assess.

Thanks so much both. Not an inset day at his school, alas, but he’s taken at least the morning off so we will see how I’m doing. I’m only 5w-something… I hadn’t booked in with hospital yet but will call doctor in case I need a scan. I’ve taken paracetamol and it’s not really touching the pain… if it gets worse I’ll call 111

We were very sad and it was painful, but not meant to be and I’ve been grateful for, and holding tight to, my three children ever since. I will always be sad I didn’t get to meet that baby x
