Still retaining small bit of tissue 2wks after MC. Should I have an ERPC?

I had my follow scan today after mcing about 2.5 weeks ago. A preg test showed a faint positive and there is a small piece of tissue from the pregnancy remaining in my uterus.

Doc first suggested an ERPC but I really don't want one. I was checked for infection and there was none, so I requested that I let it pass naturally.

Does anyone have experience of this? I don't want to wait forever.

Plus -will this have to pass out before I have another period? The Doc suggested that the tissue will come away 'when I have my next period' which doesn't make sense to me.

Surely my body should stop producing hcg before I get AF?

Thanks all xx

Bumping for you as I don't know anything on the subject.

Thanks. I'm going to have a session of acupuncture next week, and if that doesn't work I am going to go back to the docs. xx

Hackneybird I have just been through this. I had a misscarrage, the sack kept growing but no baby inside so had three weeks of scans just to check. Then I opted for the medical management but was still getting clots afterwards so on tues I had ERPC. It was fine, I hope and pray that I never have a misscarraige again, but if I did I would go straight for ERPC.

I was so scared of getting an infection that I wanted to have it in the end.

Sorry to hear of your loss, I really hope you are ok. You are not alone going through this.
