SMM overnight stay - what to pack?

I’m having SMM for a MMC first thing on Thursday morning but the hospital have asked me to arrive at 5pm on Wednesday and stay overnight.

All of the info I’ve read has you in and out on the same day so I’m feeling a bit stressed about it. (Don’t want to be away from DH and DS went through an awful time last month when DH was in hospital for a week. He’s staying with the grandparents and doesn’t know I’ll be going to hospital.)

I’m trying to pack but is there anything that I should definitely make sure to take with me?

So far I have:
Slippers
PJs and robe
underwear
change of clothes for next day
hair bobbles
pads

Any help very much appreciated.

Stock up pain killers at home in case you need it. Also, bring snacks/ treats for you. I’m so sorry for your loss xx

So sorry for your loss. I imagine the hospital have asked you to come in the day before to try and make sure you have a space available for post op recovery on the Thursday following the surgery. You should still be able to go home on the Thursday once you've recovered from the GA. What you've packed sounds fine, I would take some bits in to keep you distracted, phone charger, headphones etc. And paracetamol and ibuprofen are good to have in at home.

Hope all goes well and you are out quickly, take care of yourself ❤️xx

Eye mask
Ear plugs
Book/mag/puzzle
Paper and pen
Phone and charger and earphones
Toothbrush/toothpaste/facewash/moisturiser/deodorant
Snack

Big pants, easy clothes.
At home - easy, comforting food. Pads, easy clothes, painkillers.
Plan something nice but undemanding. We got a takeaway when i got out and the next day went very slowly to a gallery i like. It was nice to get fresh air and see beautiful things.

Sorry for your loss.

Thank you so much. Good calls, especially on the snacks and headphones!

@Whataretheodds i love the idea of having a takeaway and a chilled out walk.

I’m hoping we can take a walk around the nearby streets to see the fireworks on the Saturday with DS.
