Success stories pls! Pregnant on Cyclogest after 3 losses

Hi everyone,
I'm pregnant after 3 losses.
I'm delighted but also bricking it. Been on 200mg Cyclogest once a day since 3 dpo to support low progesterone and help implantation. (dr suggested it's implantation problems)
Im really happy but now, on top of worrying about another miscarriage I'm now worried about the increased chance of ectopic when taking progesterone early (this is what the dr warned me about).
The dr has also said I need to go on 400mg twice as soon as the pregnancy is confirmed not ectopic by a scan - how early can I get a scan? Have you had a successful pregnancy with early progesterone then another prescription for a higher dose?
Any success stories welcome! I need to focus on some hope xxx

@@Wwhite1386 , hey congrats on your pregnancy and sorry about your losses and stress it’s causing , first of all Iv never heard of progesterone causing ectopic pregnancy ? That’s crazy ! People have IVF every day and use progesterone before even getting positive tests , including me , and never had ectopic . And I was on 600 mg before even getting pregnant . I guess you’re on 200 -400 because you’re body is also making some naturally buy in ivf you don’t . But I really would worry about ectopic because of progesterone ! And normally they don’t scan you before 6 weeks minimum . Earlier than that you can’t confirm heartbeat . If you really lucky you could see heartbeat at 5+5 ect private scan but it’s worth waiting for 6 weeks to not cause unnecessary stress if you don’t see heartbeat so early .and yes there is thousand of success stories using progesterone , I know a few , if you seem to have chemical losses then maybe progesterone was low low and pregnancy could not progress but if that was the cause then by taking the progesterone , it should fix the problem 🥰❤️ But only way to find out if it’s problem with levels of progesterone is by taking a blood test otherwise you just guessing and hoping for the best that it’s that problem . But normally it’s the progesterone problem in chemicals xx

Thank you @ShareLove for the reply. He seems to think they can scan me today (at 4 weeks!) to confirm if it's ectopic or not. It's private gynae as I waited for the Miscarrisge clinic for so long. My pregnancy tests are still strong but boob pain has totally gone. I think this will just be an anxious pregnancy and I'll have to work out ways to stay sane xx

@Wwhite1386 hey honey :) ! I think if you had a scan today , you might see a black DOT only , like massively tiny ! So I guess if that’s all they want to confirm then I would go for it :) god luck ! But be prepared not to see the DOT it’s just luck really at 4 weeks it’s super early , but if they see this dot in the womb then tahts amaizng as then you’ll know it’s in the right place ❤️

Hi everyone,
I am new in this site and hoping I could get some help with my current worries as I can't stop worrying after having 2 miscarriages, the first one was a bit early 5-6 weeks two years ago and the second one was just early this year at 15 weeks.
I am now on my 4th pregnancy and hoping this will be fine. My consultant put me on cyclogest 400 mg twice a day. I am worried that this might be too much for me? As they did not check
my progesterone levels beforehand, and now I am experiencing symptoms like chest pain and acid reflux.

any advice will help. Thank you xxx

LGeorgina · 03/12/2022 20:12

@Gbmum1243 how did you get on with the cyclogest? I am now just over 5 weeks along and after speaking to my consultant the other day he also prescribed me cyclogest 40g x2 a day. I’ve had two previous miscarriages so, after seeing a private consultant earlier this year, he advised that my doctors prescribe progesterone when I next received a positive pregnancy test. (Got a positive result just over a week ago!) I’m mostly curious as to how people found symptoms/side affects to be whilst taking it. I’ve read a lot about people opting to take it rectally as opposed to vaginally due to some discomfort and leakage… If any of you ladies can shine a light, I’d be very grateful! I’ve just inserted my first tablet (opted for the front door) and am lying down for 15 mins as I saw recommended!
I wish this process didn’t have to be so anxiety inducing! I would love to just be excited but I am so fearful of things going wrong again.

Wwhite1386 · 03/12/2022 20:17

@LGeorgina I'm still on Cyclogest and now I'm 13 wks + 2. Had a last scan at 12+4. I felt a bit irritated and lots of leakage so now I opt for vag at night (then immediately lie down!) and bum in morning for a no mess day! It's been an anxious 9 weeks but starting to feel more positive about it. Hope it all goes smoothly for you xx

@Wwhite1386 oh congrats! That’s amazing news. Thank you for coming back to me so quickly. I hope everything continues smoothly for you. I may try bum tomorrow as it seems to be a lot of women’s preferred way for less mess during the day! Thanks again. So pleased it’s working for you xx
