Hi all
Interested to see who you've seen for recurrent miscarriage and what they advised!
I'm 32, had 4 MCs and no children. Since it was pretty much impossible to be seen through the NHS, we paid for private tests & advice twice:
- after the 3rd miscarriage: with Mrs Pisal at London Gyneacology
- and after the 4th miscarriage: with Prof Lesley Regan at St Mary's
Both were somewhat helpful but sadly not quite entirely satisfying.
Mrs Pisal found nothing wrong, suggested it was a case of 'bad luck' (as empathetically as she could) and suggested I take Cyclogest and 75mg Aspirin next time.
With the 4th pregnancy, as per Mrs Pisal's advice, I started on progesterone but went on to miscarry just under 6 weeks.
Then saw Prof Regan who did some further tests and also found nothing wrong ostensibly, but said that progesterone is pointless and maybe I dont need Aspirin either...
Prof Regan's admin team were very badly organised and my blood results were all over the place. When Prof Reagn took me through my results it was clear she didn't have everything in place/seemed confused at what was what etc. Not very reassuring. In the end, she asked me to get in touch when I'm pregnant next to see if I might need to go on 'low molecular weight heparin and/or even variable dose aspirin'.
How were your experiences with investigations and treatment? Would you recommend any practitioners that were especially helpful?
Thank you in advance!
