I'm booked in for an MVA tomorrow but do not want to have it if I've already miscarried most of the tissue etc.

Started equivalent of heavy period this morning with some cramps with a few clots. One was quite big, perhaps the size of the tube the toy of a kinder surprise egg comes in (couldn't think what else to compare it to). It was a hard yet jelly like substance. I don't know if this is just a typical clot or this was the main thing? I've not had any contraction type feelings. And I don't want to proceed with the MVA if the main part has expelled? Doc said if I have a scan prior to procedure there's no guarantees I will have the procedure the same day, and even then tomorrow there is no one to perform a scan. Not sure what to do

I'm sorry you're going through this. Its difficult to say. When I passed the sacs in previous losses I was contracting heavily. Once I'd passed it, the pains stopped. Pregnancy tissue is usually grey and is distinctive from clots (in my experience). I also has retained tissue in one loss even though everything appeared to come away in one go.

From what you've described, I wouldn't say it was the pregnancy. Did you take a picture / do you still have it? You could take it with you to the hospital tomorrow and ask for advice there.

I was confused too, expecting something very noticeable but just had some medium clots. I was rescanned and they confirmed I had passed most of it already so didn't need further treatment - so perhaps you will be similar. I think it depends how far along also.

Sorry for your loss x

You'll know itll be a lump. Mine was was the size of a golfball. Also a few days after i tolk the meds following a silent miscarriage

I miscarried at 8 weeks, the sac was distinctly grey and look different to the clots. Similar to a previous poster, I contracted quite heavily prior to passing it and as soon as it was gone the pain stopped.

I passed some large clots before (and after) too, started bleeding about 24 hours before the sac passed.

It resembled a kidney bean and slightly smaller than a golf ball but wasn't grey, more dark purple perhaps? Unfortunately I flushed it because I did find it all a bit distressing and wasn't really thinking. Definitely felt different in appearance, texture and shape from my other clots. But I'm still passing some clots now whereas I've read other people say after it passed they just had light bleeding.

I'm so sorry for your loss ❤

I think it depends how far along you are. All of mine have been really early (3-4 weeks) and they've all been like heavy periods with nothing too unusual about the clots. Had a little bit of cramping but nothing too painful.

It was a greyish white for me. I had some golf ball sized clots but the main bit looked very different.
