Pregnant again, it sure if to take aspirin

I have had three miscarriage in a row, I'm on a waiting list to get an appointment with the pregnancy unit. I've just found out I am pregnant again. My doctor can't do much but she said to take aspirin if I get a positive test again. I had blood work last week and my results came back Friday as negative for sticky blood. Do I still take aspirin?! Doctor was not in Friday and won't call me back until Monday. My first slight positive was today (Saturday) I have no idea what to do, it's risky to take aspirin if I don't need to but could be risky if I don't. I am so worried

I would take the lowest dose. It used to be 75mg but they now recommend 150mg so perhaps just take the 75 if you’d feel more comfortable. It’s safe and is recommended by some doctors for older mothers and with other conditions apart from sticky blood so I don’t think it would do any harm ifyswim. I’ve had three losses in a row - the first 2 I didn’t take aspirin and had miscarriages both time. The third time I took low dose aspirin and didn’t miscarry but unfortunately our baby was very poorly and we had to end the pregnancy at 20 weeks. I’m currently pregnant again and have been taking aspirin since positive test as it makes me feel like I’m doing something and if it causes no harm I don’t see why not. I’ve also been tested for sticky blood and it came back normal but I did read somewhere that it can appear in pregnancy- I don’t know if that’s true.
If you feel more comfortable waiting to speak to the doctor I’m sure a couple of days won’t make a huge difference so just do what you’re happy with. I wish you all the best and hope it works out for you this time.

I managed to get hold of the pregnancy unit, they said to take 75mg for now and that they recommend it for mothers who have experienced a number of losses. They said to take 150mg when I checked in but the nurse who saw me said to stick with 75mg for now for my weight. Now I'm confused if to take 75mg or 150mg, I will take 75mg for now and see what they say if I need to go back again. It's so stressful, how do you cope?

The guidance has changed recently and it's now 150mg, I have to take it and the midwife said to check with the GP as she wasn't sure what dose it was meant to be! gp said she only knew cause she'd looked it up recently for another lady.

What is you BMI OP? If it’s low I’d stick to 75mg for now

I take 150mg daily alongside 80mg clexane and I think it really helped me, started at 12 weeks currently 34 weeks

I have no idea to be honest, I've not checked in years. I really need to check. The nurse doing my assessment said I was slim and to stick with 75mg but I could double check tomorrow and just take the 75mg today. I am so confused

I am so so confused, I had two nurses tell me two different doses, the one doing my assessment told me to stick with 75mg due to my weight but she did not take my weight or anything, just looked at me. Really want to do something, don't want to lose another one xx

I took 150mg throughout my pregnancy to 36w. It was nothing to do with sticky blood for me - it was to reduce preeclampsia risk (a few risk factors - BP on booking, fertility treatment, 35 and poor blood flow through the cord at 12w scan). And I'm pretty sure it worked because a few days after stopping taking it at 37w, my BP went to 155/110 and DD was born 12hrs later. So it seems there are a few different benefits. My second pregnancy it was very unclear whether I should take aspirin or not according to the guidance, it could have been argued either way. I took 150mg and I am very slim. It's very safe in pregnancy.

I understand fully why you want to.

But if it were me I would want medical approval for doing so- based on actual reasons from physical findings such as blood results or other relevant tests.

You just don't know otherwise whether it's right for you and baby

OP really try not to stress too much about the dosage for now and talk to a properly qualified doctor next week to get some clarification. I know how hard it is, I’ve literally tied myself in knots and tortured myself over my last few pregnancies about this stuff but this time I’m trying to stay relaxed as I know that making myself miserable with it all hasn’t made a blind bit of difference to the outcome. If it helps some days I take 75mg and some days I take 150mg. I read that it’s more effective if taken at night so I take 75mg in the morning because I take all my supplements then and know I’ll remember and then I take another 75mg before bed if I remember (which at the moment is about twice a week as I’m so tired come bed time!).
I really do understand. I second guess everything I put in my mouth worrying it will cause a miscarriage because I have insulin resistance. I’ve got my fingers crossed for you

I took 75mg for a few days till I was able to speak to the Dr to confirm. The letter the midwife gave requesting the prescription said 75mg but she said to ask the dr cause she wasn't sure. And that's what the dr said and prescribed 150 instead.

I've been under a consultant as well who asked once if I was taking aspirin and nodded when I said the dose. So must be fine in my case!

I'm taking it for pre eclampsia risk as I had High blood pressure in my last pregnancy.

Oh and my BMI is in the normal range

I took 150mg per day with my 4th pregnancy after 3 mc. It worked! My appointment at the recurrent mc clinic was cancelled due to covid but I ended up pregnant again anyway. I’ve heard/read that sometimes your blood only tests as sticky when you are pregnant. It’s totally up to you but given your history I’d take it and see if it helps. Congratulations and sending loads of positive vibes. I know how terrifying it is to be in your situation

I got put on 150mg on Friday. Dissolvable ones to take two at night each 75mg each.

I'm having twins and asked the consultant if it is safe. She said yes it's now the recommended amount for people with twin pregnancies or recurring miscarriages or other conditions.

There is a leaflet on the NHS about it and the other conditions.

I hate going there, lots of bad memories. Hoping I just have to go there one more time for some blood work and confirmation of aspirin and that's it. X

My last miscarriage was only last month, it's a miracle I am even pregnant again so soon, it took 8 months at least after my other two miscarriage as I have issues conceiving. It's a minefield.
