Second dose of Misoprostol for retained product not working?!

has anyone had this happen?

I had MM 10/11 days ago. After 6-8 hours I lost a lot of blood. Passed lots of tissue and had been bleeding a lot up until recently.

scan on Friday confirmed retained tissue/blood clot they were not sure. About 2cm they think.

i decided to try MM again to remove the final piece of tissue or blood whatever was left in there. taken it early this morning and nearly 12 hours later nothing has happened. In fact only minimal type uncomfy ness. No real pain but I didn’t get pain first time. Bleeding has almost stopped just brown when wiping. And no new bleeding of any sort.

does MM for retained tissue often not work? Will I need surgery.

i did pass a bit more Kelly type like blood saturday and Friday after I’d been for the scan. But unsure if they would be what they saw or not.

Hi! Just jumping on to see how you got on? I suffered a MMC on the 26th of May and let it come away naturally which it did with lots of blood and tissue/clots.. the following week I went back for a scan which showed a 2cm bit of tissue left; took the tablets which did nothing but cause mild pain and brown discharge, went back the following week for another scan and again there is still tissue left which is tiny, second dose of tablets hasn't seemed to work but I am so fed up now

I had lost most of the pregnancy from the first lots of medical management. Second lot didn’t nothing for the 2cm of retained tissue and clots. So when I was rescanned again and it had been going on like 3 weeks at this point.

I asked to have surgery to have it over with. Then they said they wanted me to wait. But my lining was still thick and I couldn’t see how my hcg would drop with retained tissue in. So they agreed and I had ERPC surgery on 6th May.

All went well. I bled for a week. Got a negative test week later and ovulated like the next day.

fell pregnancy again that cycle but had a chemical. Now in my 2ww for first proper cycle really.

if your unhappy to wait. Go back to them and find out if surgery is an option. Otherwise it is just waiting it out for a period which can be a long wait. And it’s horrible unknown period not being able to move on or ttc
