The babies of the stars

Resemble daffodils

Because they are

They shine for us to say they’re there

And bloom for us because we care

And even though they bloom and leave

The stars shine bright for all to see

I'm so sorry for your loss.

I recently experienced a missed miscarriage and felt that writing helped me.

I wasn't going to share this but your poem really touched me.

You didn't stay for very long,
You came and then you went.
But that's OK our little one,
I guess it wasn't meant.

If our love could have saved you,
You'd still be here today.
But there was nothing we could do,
And you simply couldn't stay.

Though your memory may slowly fade,
We know we won't forget you.
Our little light that couldn't shine,
Our seed that never grew.

We'll try to be strong for you,
Even when the days seem grey.
We'll always be your mum and dad,
Although you've gone away.

As the weeks and months pass by,
We'll heal and we'll grow strong.
And maybe you could help us out
And send another little one along.

It's such a hard thing to go through but at least we're not alone.
