Early MC / chemical pregnancy 4 weeks 5 days

Hi folks - looking for some advice.

Last month I tested positive twice in early pregnancy tests and a few days later began to bleed. I contacted my GP who said it sounded like an early MC but because I was only around 4 weeks there was nothing to be done as nothing would show up on a scan etc. He said just to test again after bleed to be sure incase pregnancy could still be viable. I only bled for a day then stopped for a day and then very light bleed/dark discharge the third day.

Fast forward two and a half weeks I have a really fishy smell and I am getting concerned. Has anyone had a similar experience?

I thought maybe I had BV and bought canesbalance but it says not to use if trying to conceive so I am reluctant this month as desperate for a good outcome this month trying. It’s almost impossible to speak to a GP at my practice even on the phone but I am going to try again tomorrow.

Have you done another test that has come back negative?

Geemmm · 02/11/2021 21:09

Hi @Limboland80 yeah I did another test today and had a BFN.

@Geemmm hey OP. If it's any consolation I too am 4 weeks 5 days and have started to bleed today. I had a positive day before and day of my due period. I called the GP because I was having pain on my right hand side, and I had internal and external scans mostly to look for any blockage or abnormalities. I also had a blood test taken to measure HCG levels. They came back at 2 so it confined it was a chemical pregnancy. I would maybe ask for a blood test just to determine if your HCG levels are good perhaps? It may give you some peace of mind 🙂🙂

Hi @CShandy01 thanks for ur message.

So sorry to hear of your chemical pregnancy but glad you have had support from your GP in investigating with scans and tests.

I’m now a few weeks after my chemical pregnancy and have ovulated in my current cycle so don’t think the doctors would be able to help in any way.

Hopefully it doesn’t come to it but I will definitely take the advice if I find myself in the position again. I think your right it would give more peace of mind. Thanks

Hey all, I'm in this position too and wondering if I need a docs appointment or not?

Would be 5+6 today but started getting pink wipes after a wee on Friday afternoon and bleeding began in earnest yesterday.

Can't even get through to GP on the phone currently and tbh I'm wondering if I need to since I am pretty sure of what's happening. I guess I will do as the Dr told you OP and do another test after bleeding has stopped, just to make sure.

Hey @LittleMysSister

sorry to hear that - have you tried contacting nhs24? My friend was in a similar position and contacted them who put her in touch with the epu and they got her in for a scan and blood tests just to check her over - might be worth it to make sure everything is ok? X

@Geemmm Thanks, I've actually managed to send a message to my Drs via their website this morning and they should respond within 72hrs. Just asked them whether I need to have any checks or whether I'm ok to just let it run its course.

Hey guys can anyone help please.

So AF is due tomorrow and I've had no symptoms of pregnancy this month after last month but thought I would test anyway and got this result within the first minute? Do we think this is a BFP? Or am I just seeing things? I don't want to tell my other half again when he comes in incase I get his hopes up again after last month.

Definitely a line there for sure!!

If you have had negatives since your chemical then I'd assume this is a new pregnancy?

CShandy01 · 13/11/2021 09:45

@Geemmm that looks like a line there for sure!!! Keeping my fingers and toes crossed for you chick ❤️🤞🏻 what a lovely Christmas present!!!

AF has stopped for me so I'm now on CD9. Feeling really positive and focusing on me and my family (DH and DD) rather than the CP. In no way do I think I'll get a BFP before Christmas, or anytime soon, but equally I'm quite at peace with the idea that everything will be alright in the end xx

Geemmm · 13/11/2021 13:11

@LittleMysSister yeah I think this is a new pregnancy 🤞🏻.

How did you get on after emailing your GP? Were they helpful?

@CShandy01 thank you so much ❤️!

I think that's such a good approach to it all - positive vibes and looking after you and yours ❤️! I hope everything works out for you though - will be sending positive vibes your way!!

Hi all, having a bit of an emotional day. Been TTC for a year now and after very regular cycles, I am 7 days late for my period. Taken multiple tests and all positive, albeit faint lines. According to timings I should be 4 weeks 5 days pregnant. I told my husband 2 days ago after waiting a while before telling him, just in case. That's when it all went downhill... The test lines became weaker and I have started bleeding today. I am so so sad. I had it set in my mind this was the time for me. I feel so sad.

LittleMysSister · 04/10/2023 23:27

Hi @Rainingrae , I'm so sorry I've only just seen this. I hope you are OK.xx

Rainingrae · 05/10/2023 04:38

Hi @LittleMysSister thank you so much for your message ♥ I am doing alright thank you. We are TTC again this month and I hope we are lucky this time. I hope you are well xx
