Missed Miscarriage 17 weeks on and still waiting for surgery

Hi all,

Just wondering whether anyone has gone through the same as me. I fell pregnant in June went for my 12 week scan at the end of August to be told I had a missed miscarriage. Was referred up to the ward where I was given my options, decided to choose to go down the medical management route. Was advised I would receive a follow up telephone appointment which I did in early September. Had the telephone call was called in for scan to see if the treatment had worked it hadn’t. Was then given another round of the medical management. Went back last Friday for another scan to be told that again it had not worked and would need a D&C. Stayed around in hospital had bloods and MRSA swab and was told by the consultant that she would want me in this week. Followed up the hospital Monday to be told that I would receive a letter about the date for my surgery. Surely now after two failed attempts to clear my womb and having to go to the last resort to remove the miscarriage that I would be booked in urgently to have my D&C? As it is I would have been 17 weeks pregnant. I can’t cope feeling how I’m feeling at the moment not to mention my skin flare ups. I really don’t know what to do.

@zas3 I'm so sorry you are going through this. I had a mmc and opted straight for the surgical management and it was done 2 days after we discovered the baby had not grown. The amount of time you have waited is unacceptable. I can't imagine how it is making you feel as I know after experiencing it myself, you just want closure.

I'd definitely call the EPU or even your GP and tell them how long it has been since your 12 weeks scan. I find it ridiculous that it has taken so long. Make sure you get your point across or have your partner or someone call then and explain how it's making you feel. I really hope you get an appointment soon and in the meantime, take care of yourself ❤️

That is completely unacceptable and I'm so so sorry for you. You need to talk to PALS at your hospital and tell them everything you have written down here, this isn't just affecting you physically it must be affecting you mentally as well. Please cause a massive fuss or get someone to do it on your behalf.

I'm so sorry Thanks
