Hi everyone, I'm new to mumsnet so I'm still learning how all this works. I'm sorry if any of this is triggering to you but although I have had miscarriages before I have never experienced this....
A little over a week ago I attended EPU (I have the copper coil and due to risks needed to be seen, a happy surprise) they did a internal scan (maybe relevant but one was training the other) they said the coil seemed in the correct place, overheard them say blighted ovum and they asked me to do a urine and blood test and said I could be earlier than thought or tiny ectopic they couldn't see.... I was already light spotting blood and it got heavier. That night I received a call from EPU, no heartbeat, blood level is less than 5hcg, urine saying negative (I had done over 20 tests from different places leading upto the appointment , all had said positive plus I had the symptoms) the call was our worst fears confirmed this was our 7th miscarriage and told collect a memory box which we did and I'm unsure if this is normal now but it had two teddy bears.
After 3/4 days bright red heavy ish bleeding, it stopped and my pregnancy symptoms got stronger and I have done multiple tests again the biggest amount urine test was sensitive to 20hcg.
I phoned EPU and the woman who answered said she didn't know urine tests could be that sensitive (UK shop B&M, clear and simple tests 79p for three strip tests) and that staff told me to wait 3 weeks and check if negative at that point in time and my experience is either
A) incomplete miscarriage or ectopic and still growing
B) I was to early when scanned
C) a new pregnancy (not had sex for weeks)
but she continued that someone had positives and then the day after the 3 weeks recommended it turned negative.
I asked her that based on their system just over a week ago saying negative urine test and 1 hcg bloods, miscarriage and technically no longer pregnant, then doesn't this mean I shouldn't have to wait 2 more weeks as the pattern has recently been - pregnant- their system saying not pregnant - now positives again at home and symptoms with vengeance..... but apparently I still have to wait another 2 weeks until I reach the test again zone and if needs be they will check again then. So we are currently stuck in a cruel limbo of grieve but don't grieve (others dont know especially the kids we have but with my symptoms they know Somethings up) , scared and a little hope that even with coil and risks there is a miracle...
Please has anyone experienced this? What was the outcome?
