Sorry to see everyone on these thread, baby loss at any stage is awful, heartbreaking.

Myself and husband are in the process of arrange our baby girls funeral, she was born sleeping at 16+1weeks on 27th April She is our first and only child.

I have been to many funerals including a baby loss of one of our friends. We are struggling with songs, poem to have, she is much loved wanted and missed but how do we talk about her and honour her short life - we didn't know who she was to be.

I have the song still for the middle of the service and undecided about over a rainbow to exit - is that too cheery song?

Any ideas, thoughts or experiences welcomed.

So sorry for your loss.
I think over the rainbow is a beautiful song to end the service.
Have a look at Helen Steiner Rice for poems. Some are a bit religious but not all - they’re usually very beautiful.
I wish you all the best Flowers

I’m sorry for your loss 💗

For my baby boy (born at 21+3), we had
Precious Child by Karen Taylor Good
The Scientist by Coldplay
Brahms Lullaby

The poems were
So Go and Run Free
Little Snowdrop

I know it’s hard and just checking my blog again after nearly 5 years to get you the poem names has been very emotional. Take care xx

I’m sorry you’re going through this OP Flowers I can’t help with readings, but I think over a rainbow would be perfect. I think it’s a very poignant song - definitely not too cheery.

Flowers sorry for your loss.
At my DGD's funeral we had 'You are my Sunshine'. I know it's recognised as a football anthem but if you google the lyrics they are very poignant.
If you'd chosen her name or a nickname, say it when you talk about her.
Your choice of song is perfect for your beautiful baby girl

I'm so sorry for your loss.

There is a song on YouTube called Veritys Song, by Khrystian Lewis, which is about an earlier loss but to me captures that feeling of missing someone who you never got to know.

I think Somewhere Over the Rainbow is a beautiful song, especially for a situation like this.
