Hey,

As the subject suggests, I am just wondering how long it took anyone to get a negative test after a MMC and then how long it took for your period to start?

It’s been 7 weeks since my medical management and I’m still having faint positives on my hpt with no sign of af xx

Took me 9 weeks. I called at week 6 and they scanned to check for retained tissue, but there was nothing amis. It was just taking a really long time.

I think maybe you need to call the EPU and tell them you're still having faint positives? There could be some retained tissue... Have they re-scanned you? I recently went through similar and they said even after a negative test your period could still take up to 8 weeks to show.

Hope you're okay, the post miscarriage treatment and support is really lacking X

I went with expectant management and got a negative after 2 and a half weeks and a week later I got my period but I was told to call back if it was still positive after 3. Have you had another scan to confirm that everything's complete after the medical management? I think it's quite common for there to be retained products (horrible phrase I'm sorry!) after the medication unfortunately. It may just be your body taking its time to get back to normal though, it can depend on how many weeks you were too.

I am sorry for your loss OP, I hope you're doing okay.

Thank you for your replies and sorry for your losses.

I haven’t had another scan, it’s not even been suggested! I will test again on Tuesday and call the EPU if there’s yet another faint positive. They’ll ask me to come in for another blood test but see if they can scan me too.

Good luck for your test tomorrow Flowers it was such a relief for me getting that negative I feel like it brought some relief and closure on what had happened. But if it's not negative I really hope the EPU suggest a scan for you x

Hey , firstly very bery sorry for your loss. Having been through it I cant even imagine how you are feeling. they say it should take 3-6 weeks to get a negative test depending on how far you was. (I actually never did a test though the hospital does advise you to test 3 weeks post miscarriage)

I had a MC’d at 7-8 weeks but found out at 9 weeks. The tissue all passed and I bled for around 12 days.
I then got my period 28 days later.
