Medical management test showing still pregnant

Hello I wonder if anyone else has had the same medical management experience as me?
So I found out I’d had a missed miscarriage during my 12 week scan -baby died at 7.5 weeks with no symptoms at all. I opted for the medical management option (tablets) and these took affect later that night with severe abdominal cramping and bleeding. Bled heavily for the next 2 weeks.
I suspected an infection 2 weeks later due to a not very nice smell and sticky-like blood on my pad (also had had abdominal pains).
I went into hospital and swabs, bloods and a scan was carried out. Swabs have shown E.coli which are being treated with antibiotics but bloods fine. Sonographer told me that there was no retained product though the womb lining looked thick (poss blood).
Today I did my 3 week post medical management pregnancy test only to discover it’s still showing as a positive (I did two tests just to be sure!). I have now been told to wait a further week which in itself is killing me just not knowing. Has anyone else experienced this at all? I’m doubting the scan was correct. Thank you

Hey, sorry for your loss and what you've been through, it’s truly the most awful experience. My MMC was just under 9 wks but baby was measuring just over 6, we’d also seen a heartbeat but measuring small and I knew it wasn’t good news and it had stopped a few days later. I had medical management on 1st March , still testing positive 3 weeks later , went in for bloods and HCG was 215, scan showed I still had some thick uterus lining but no pregnancy tissue and was given anti biotics. Went back yesterday and uterus lining is thicker but HCG has dropped to 51!!! They couldn’t really give me an answer tbh but as hormones are going down they are happy with that. I’m going back in a week again to see what’s happening. I’m still passing bloody mucus and have to wear a pad when out walking at stuff comes out, they think that the lining will just fall away gradually or with next period. Well this is what I’m
Hoping too at least :/

If my hormone levels are the same next week and not stopping further they’ll re scan and consider options if that’s needed. It’s emotionally exhausting and just want to be trying again but it’s all taking so much time. I understand how you must feel I really do. They just keep telling me that unfortunately for some ladies it takes a lot longer :( I know also if you are further along your HCG is higher and takes longer to fall. see where you are in a week but do ask for bloods and a scan if you are still positive. I hope it’s not as long winded for you and things get back to normal quick xx

Even though there's nothing left, hcg will still probably be in your body.

I had a miscarriage at 10 weeks, baby had stopped growing at 7.
It took 6 weeks for my tests to go completely negative
