Can someone please explain why fertility consultants put you on aspirin after recurrent misscarrige ? How does aspirin exactly help in early pregnancy ? Iv had many early losses so trying it next time I get pregnant . And is there any harm taking 150mg instead of 75mg?

This is a confusing issue as there’s a lot of advice out there that taking low dose aspirin can help prevent miscarriage. My EPU even said if might help and can’t hurt. However my consultant told me it should only be taken if you have been diagnosed with a specific clotting disorder and prescribed aspirin by a doctor, as in some people it actually increases the risk of miscarriage.

Have you had any tests for your losses @Sadgirl28?

@Sadgirl28 I'm sorry about your losses. There is another great thread about taking aspirin 150mg aspirin from ovulation? www.mumsnet.com/Talk/pregnancy/4156993-150mg-aspirin-from-ovulation

I started taking 75mg this cycle from around my ovulation after having 3 chemical pregnancies. My doctor wasn't able to prescribe it to me but she has heard of specialists prescribing it to women.

Based on my own research it thins your blood and helps reduce inflammation which may help with implantation & continuing of the pregnancy. I made this decision myself based on my own research so suggest you do the same if you're thinking about it.
