I have had 5 losses in a row at 5-6 weeks all of them , no kids yet ! Fertility consultant pushing me to ivf now , saying it’s most likely chromosome problems , I am in my 20’s so I don’t really belive all 5 are due to chromosome faults . All my nhs testing was normal so that’s why my consultant thinks it’s chromosome . All I want is him to prescribe me progesterone but he won’t . I want it because I have a friend who was successful with progesterone after recurrent misscarrige . I am soooo stressed out ! I don’t really want ivf because I guess the same result willl happen once I’m pregnant . I will probably lose it again like all the others . What can I do now :(

My SIL had five losses back to back at four to six weeks each time. The doctor wasn't very sympathetic; said many people wouldn't know they were pregnant and to stop testing the week of the period etc.

Anyway, sixth one stuck! So I'm saying don't give up hope as you're still young. My friend was only prescribed progesterone when she miscarried from 7 weeks onwards. Could you see a different GP to discuss your history?

@Flittingaboutagain wow that is sooo lucky that last one stuck ! I wonder how it’s possible after all the losses Smile my consultant is now sending me into ivf route , which I don’t think will make much difference as I can get pregnant but not carry pregnancy so I don’t know how ivf baby will stick :(

I had this, 8 miscarriages and an MMC, I took 75mg of aspirin every day after my MMC and finally got one to stick and he's now 18 months old.

Have they not referred you now you have had multiple miscarriages?

If not, that's terrible and you should push for it! Friends of mine had 5 losses but had been referred after 3 so were in the middle of testing. She had high natural killer cells so the next time she was pregnant, took medication to combat that and some progesterone. She's due to give birth any day now.

Has your consultant done testing on bloods? If so they would know if your progesterone levels are a problem. If not, then thatll be why they wont prescribe it.

I understand - I would want to know the other causes had been ruled out before progressing to IVF

@Sadgirl28 you can also try and get progesterone privately . I had a phone consultation with a private gynaecologist called Amanda tozer . She gave me a private prescription for progesterone.

It’s pricey though £200 for the phone consultation then it’s about £45 for the three months worth of progesterone,

I’ve had 5 early losses back to back . I’m 36 though .
All my nhs tests are normal including parental karotyping and my partners sperm ( Dna)

I’m exploring nk cells theory at Coventry - google the implantation clinic .

Also don’t know where you are in the country but you could try and get a referral to Tommy’s clinic .

That’s where I went and we were part of their trials so we had sperm dna tests done for free x
