Positive test after mmc 5 weeks ago

Hi

I’m still having very positive pregnancy tests 5 weeks after my missed miscarriage. I did a clear blue today just to see how strong they are and it says 2-3 weeks. It said the same 2 weeks ago, it seems that my hormones just aren’t budging. It can’t be a new pregnancy as I haven’t had a negative since the MC yet.

Has anyone experienced this?

My tests are also showing positive so being rescanned on Thursday. Definitely not a good pregnancy as not had sex! Good luck everyone xx

Another update

Hospital rang today to cancel my appointment as there’s women with COVID on the ward. The doctor looked at my scans and she can see either a polyp or a blood clot and thinks maybe that could be what’s giving off the hormone so they’ve booked me in to have it removed next Thursday

@Laurenb2392 glad you've finally got something in place to get it sorted.

Emilu89 · 26/11/2020 13:34

@laurenb2392 pleased your going to get sorted! Hope your feeling OK about it all?

Laurenb2392 · 26/11/2020 15:03

They aren’t 100% sure that’s what’s causing the HCG to stay static

They aren’t sure if it’s a polyp or a blood clot, I imagine if it’s a blood clot then it’s very likely that’s what it is making my HCG stay up?

Just coming to update and get some opinions

My appointment is Thursday to have my polyp scraped out as they think that’s what is causing my HCG to stay elevated

However the last week my breast have gotten more and more tender to the point today they’re unbearable, they hurt more now than when I was pregnant

What could this be? Im wondering if because my body still has high levels of HCG do you think I’ve now started producing milk? It says online breast start producing milk between 16-22 weeks and if I was still pregnant I would be around 17/18 weeks now

@Laurenb2392 hey sorry on just read your response. Did you speak to the hospital about this? It could be due to still elevated levels of HCG. I hope all goes well today with the procedure 💐
I had surgical removal yesterday of my MMC, it wasn't pleasant but hopefully it is over now

Laurenb2392 · 03/12/2020 10:26

@bez91 I’m literally in the hospital bed now

They’ve gave me 4 tablets in the vgin and 1 in the rear. I wasn’t expecting the one in the rear Confused

Now I’m waiting for them to do the surgical management to get any remaining tissue out

Was it painful? I’m dreading it but also glad that hopefully this should be over after today

@Laurenb2392 wishing you well! I'm not sure they are the same procedure as I had painkillers and then an injection in my cervix to remove all the pregnancy as well as using gas and air.

Are you having local or general anaesthetic? I opted for local, it wasn't pleasant but manageable 😊

Laurenb2392 · 03/12/2020 11:02

I’ve just had it done and had the same as you

They used what you use for a smear, then the injection then the scrape

I thought it was horrible, however it was better than the medical management I had

Although the surgical management is painful it’s quick where as the medical management is extremely painful and lasts hours

I’m so glad this is over. Here’s to hoping for my negative! Keep me updated on your negative @bez91

@Laurenb2392 so glad to hear that! I'm glad I opted for that method as like you say it's quick although not pleasant!

They never actually gave me any advice on if to take a test in a few weeks but they are ringing me within the next few days to see how I am so I will ask. Did they advise you to take one 3 weeks after your initial MC? Is it the same advice for you this time?

Laurenb2392 · 03/12/2020 11:39

Yes same advice this time they said if it’s not negative in two weeks then to call back

If it’s not negative then il cry

@Laurenb2392
hey ladies
I know this was 2 years ago now, but I’m this is the only thread that I could really relate. Too I’m currently going through this had MC 6 weeks ago, still showing positive on a clearblue 1-2 weeks. Hospital are useless and I’m completely fed up with this now. How long did it take you to finally get a negative ? And also did you TTC again xxxx

LBXXX · 03/05/2022 08:51

Hi Lozzi90

i ended up having left over product so I had to have surgery to remove it

I finally got a negative test in December 2020 and conceived again in March and I now have a healthy 5 month old

I tracked ovulation and used conceive plus lube
