medical miscarriage cramps stopped

I am going through medical miscarriage at 9 weeks for 5 week missed miscarriage. I took the misoprostol in the morning and had the worst cramps ever which the pain killers from EPU didnt help. There has been no bleeding and now the cramps have stopped for more than an hour. Just asking is it normal to have big gaps between bad cramps?

Sorry to hear this OP. How are you now @tikha?
No advice I'm afraid as I am yet to go through this. I'm waiting for a third and final scan to confirm my miscarriage (which I already know is 100% sadly but hospital need another scan to confirm) and am expecting to start medical management next week if it doesn't happen naturally before then.

Probably worth ringing the EPU and telling them what your enduring-they may want to bring you in for supervision and give you stronger painkillers. Bless you- it’s an awful thing to go through. So unfair. Huge virtual hugs.

@pingit and @ladyfarmer thanks for getting back to me. The pain was very bad from the medical management. As it was a Saturday ended up going through GP out of hours to get extra codeine. Unfortunately that caused only minimal spotting. Went to EPU on Saturday, the say the things have started shifting but the bulk of the pregnancy products were still there. Since then I have had about one pad worth of bleeding and only cramps lasting in an hour so not much happening. Have an MVA booked for Friday but in hindsight should have gone for D&C as I have a cervical ectopic in the past and it might be why the initial cramps post misoprostol was super painful. more waiting around limbo.

Oh @tikha you poor lady, that sounds awful. I will be thinking of you on Friday. You're very brave. X

Keep on top of those painkillers. Co- codamol seems effective in some cases. Nice hot water bottle on your tummy. If you want a D and C then pester them for it to happen rather than carry on suffering. X

Finally had an MVA and hope thats the last of it. Wondering when my pregnancy test will turn negative.

Glad you are sorted @tikha.

I my medical management yesterday. Had quite bad cramps and started bleeding about 4.5 hours later. In the evening I lost 2 decent sized clots on the loo, and heavyish bleeding, and a few pea sized pieces of grey / white tissue. Since then I've just had really, really light bleeding (barely there!) and very light / no cramps. I am not sure whether that means it was just very straight forward for me, minimal bleeding and over with super quickly, or whether it hasn't fully worked. 🤷‍♀️

@pingit sorry to hear about loss but hopefully medical management has sorted it out. Apparently the next period can be painful as well but who knows every woman reacts differently. I am getting mood swings and night sweats which i think is related to hormone changes.
