Fist period after early pregnancy loss

Hi everyone,

unfortunately last month I suffered an early pregnancy loss. My period seams to have arrived exactly 28 days after the bleeding started. However it just seams unusually light, and I’m just desperate to ovulate again and feels like it’s just not going to happen. Yesterday was day two and it was literally just pale pink spotting all day, and hardly anything this morning.

I’m worried it’s not normal coz everything I have read said to expect a heavier period post loss.

can anyone shed some light on their experiences? Thanks to anyone who shares ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Hi there, so sorry you are going through this.
I had a missed miscarriage last month, had an mva on 22nd June (baby sadly had no heartbeat at 8wks).
My usual cycles are 26 days, and after a negative hcg test, I came on my period when expected. But like you, unusually light. Only needed to wear a pad and it only lasted 5 days. On those days, I'd feel a bit of a 'gush', but that would be it for the day. I had 2 days of nothing, then another little 'gush' and now still nothing for 2 days. Don't get me wrong, I'm pleased about it....usually I bleed for 10 days and have several heavy days.
I'm on cd10, had a negative opk today.
No idea what will happen this cycle but I'll keep testing opk until I get a positive or af!
I was worried as most people seem to have nightmare first periods and could find very little from people who'd had light ones....but I guess the first few months after a miscarriage could be anything so I'm just going with the flow (excuse the pun!).
Only thing I've taken from reading experiences...., it could be light, it could be sporadic, it could be heavy, it may stop soon or last longer. It's s* and out of your control.
Sending virtual hugs and crossing fingers.xx

Thanks for replying. Yes I’m sorry you have had to experience this too. Well I’m CD4 now and yesturday I was just spotting so think that was it for the month. Only had a real flow on the first day and then two days of spotting. So strange. Going to start testing around day 7 I think so just hoping things are back to a normal Rhythm. All I could see on line was to expected heavier and painful then normal periods but I haven’t had that and it’s just constantly on my mind at the moment. X

@Sohe I believe it’s not uncommon not to ovulate in the first cycle after a miscarriage. There are a lot of hormones that need to rebalance. I know that’s frustrating if you just want to start trying again but hopefully your next cycle will be more normal, just try not to be too worried about this one x

I lost my baby boy at 24 weeks in pregnancy. Got my two periods but my hormones still playing up, still getting faint lines on First response and CB.And I'm 10 weeks post giving birth to our son. So I presume everyone is different.
