Hi all,

I found out that my baby had stopped growing at 8 weeks on my 12 week scan. I opted for medical management and had the pessaries on Monday early afternoon. I passed the baby and a lot of tissue and clots by 23:00 Monday evening and the pain eased off to normal period cramping.

Today however I woke up in agony again with constant pain. No excessive bleeding but pain that brings me to tears. Is this normal?

Hi there. I didn’t have medical management, I opted for natural but what you’ve described is the same for me. First day was lots of bleeding and passing huge clots. Bit of cramping. Second day still bleeding and in a LOT of pain. So much so that I was crying out, sweating, couldn’t find a comfortable position to be in. Painkillers didn’t help. Passing smaller clots. Eased off eventually. I’m still bleeding today but pain has eased.

Forgot to say, I’m so sorry for your loss. It’s a traumatic time and I don’t think I was prepared for what would happen. Lots of love to you Flowers If you’re worried I would call the EPU. I went to a&e when I was bleeding a lot and they couldn’t do much for me.

Thank you for replying @FrankieChips

I am so sorry you are going through the same thing. It is a horrific experience. I hope you feel better soon too xx

Did they do a transvaginal ultrasound to see if there are any pregnancy tissue remained still inside after you finished your misoprostol doses? Can you go to ER of any hospital or a woman and children hospital for an emergency scan. I do not know anything about the UK health system, I am in Italy. But after medical management they told me to come back to hospital if I have heavy cramps or excessive bleeding or fever... I am sorry for your loss, take care.
