Misoprostol not worked?

After finding out I had a MMC on Wednesday when I should have been 9w, I started medical management yesterday morning. I prepared myself for a lot of pain and heavy bleeding, but thought it would be the best option so it would be over quickly. Nothing much has happened. I am bleeding, but it’s much lighter than my normal period would be, and although I had some painful cramps last night today they’ve been very mild.

I went to the loo this morning and I felt something solid plop out, but I don’t think this could have been the sac? I thought maybe it was the start of the blood clots, but I’ve not had anything else like it since then.

I know they said it can take up to 72 hours to work, but I read so many experiences of woman of it all happening within a few hours so that’s what I expected.

Would anyone have any advice? I know it’s likely just a waiting game. I need to phone epu back on Monday and they said if I haven’t had heavy bleeding then I’d be brought in to be given more misoprostol. They didn’t mention whether they would check on a scan first to see if there has been any chance, what if the little solid plop this morning was it passing?

@Stabal exactly the same thing happened to me. They gave me tablets on the Wednesday and I started bleeding the following Monday- they made me wait a week before they’d give me any more tablets and when I did ring on the Wednesday they wouldn’t give me any more because I’d started bleeding. I ended up in a&e because “tissue” got stuck in my cervix and I was bleeding very heavily at home. Please keep an eye on it as things can change very quickly. Lots of women take the medication though and have no problems at all sometimes you might just need a second dose x

I’m back in hospital, & have had a second dose inserted, this time by a doctor. Laying on bed again for an hour before I’m allowed home

@Sansa87 I'm glad they done a second dose before diving into surgery, I really hope this dose does it for you!

@Sallyjo27 oh god that's awful! My experience with it all was extremely traumatic and I won't go down the medical management route again if I ever need to

8 hours later, & nothing 😔 I’m terrified. I don’t think I can mentally deal with the op whilst awake.

I just want this pregnancy ended now 😕 I was so happy with my bfp, & fell in love with those little cells, but losing bubba, & it dragging out this long is pure torture.

Hi ladies,

I went for my first scan this Wednesday to find out my baby had died measuring 7 weeks and 3 days ( I would have been 9 weeks). I have been given cyotec and today have placed two tablets vaginally and then another 2 tomorrow. Very mild cramps and tiredness but I am worried it is not working as I have had no bleeding yet. Anyone the same ? Thanks xx

Stabal · 10/10/2020 14:13

@Lauren2804 what time did you have the medication today?

Lauren2804 · 10/10/2020 15:13

Thanks for your reply I took at 12:30 now I am experiencing bad cramps.

Stabal · 10/10/2020 16:11

@Lauren2804 it took about 3 and half hours for cramps to come on for me then the worst came about an hour after that. I'm really sorry you're going through this 💕

Lauren2804 · 10/10/2020 16:54

Yes I have just been through the worst very very painful and have also been sick. It’s terrible what we have to go through sending love.
