Pregnancy of unknown location

So this is my second miscarriage but when I had an internal scan sue shooting pain on my right side and was spotting bright red blood they diagnosed it as a pregnancy of unknown location and was told they would have to monitor my bloods.
So I had a call back yesterday to say the HCG had gone down in my bloods which meant the pregnancy was non viable and I have to have another blood test next week to check again.
But all the cramping has pretty much stopped and I haven't bleed at all apart from when wiping which over the past 3 days turned to brown and now nothing and almost now like fertile cm. so over all not even enough blood or discharge to get on a pad.

Can your body just absorb everything and only bleed a tiny amount? Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this?

Hello everyone. I'm so sorry to hear about your losses it's so hard to be going through this especially now with covid and not being able to bring partners to appointments.
@Jolie23 I just wondered if you had the injection on Friday and how you are? I have been on a rollercoaster ride, finding out I was pregnant on Thursday and that it was ectopic on Friday. My head is reeling. I was persuaded at the epu that the methotrexate injection was the best course of action for me but I actually wanted to wait and see . In the end i haven't found it too awful and hope you're also ok.

@ladyflower23 I'm sorry you have been through this... I can certainly relate to the emotional roller-coaster.

I did originally want to wait and see how I was but ended up having the injection Friday so far I have felt OK.
Had a headache which to be honest i have had for days and felt a bit lightheaded at times yesterday but so far that's all.
I haven't started to bleed yet I assumed i would and don't no if I need to be worried about that.

@Jolie23 Sorry yes I did have the injection on Friday. I had a headache too, felt tired and a bit sick. I'd heard of other people being really ill on it and was terrified! I've been bleeding since before the BFP and that's stayed the same. I also had some cramping and that's the same as well. Only new symptom is a shooting pain up my bum when I first sit down
I'm only about 4.5 weeks. I was shocked they could actually see anything on the scan. How far along are you?

@ladyflower23 I actually called the hospital because not that I want to be unwell but asked them if it's normal as I haven't even bled yet they said sometimes I can start around day 4 and I'm back at the hospital tomorrow for a check up anyway.
I bled for a soild week week before last and lost clots but nothing since.
I have felt tired and fuzzy head had the odd twinge and that's it so far.
Not actually sure how far I am that's all part of the mystery.
What are you HCG levels on Friday morning mine were in the 700s can't remember the exact number I'm praying this injection works

My HCG was 350 on Friday so I thought they would agree to the wait and see but there was a blood clot near my ovary on the scan which they said was evidence the tube had been bleeding and the progesterone result was high so looked like my body would go on supporting the pregnancy. I've got blood test again on Tuesday to see what's happening. It's good you are going in for a check up tomorrow. Did they say what that would involve? Do they know where your pregnancy is located? I've only been going through this for a few days and finding is so stressful. I too am praying the injection works and I won't have to go through anything else.

@ladyflower23 my checkup tomorrow is my 4 day blood test to see what my HCG levels are... No they don't no where mine is so that's what the frustrating thing is.
I'm confused you have been able to see something on a scan they told me nothing can be seen when HCG is below min. Of 1000.🤔

This is confusing my 4 day blood test is on Tuesday. Our hospitals count day 1 differently maybe?! Yes query that about the hcg. I had my scan before the blood test. I got one immediately because the pregnancy was an accident and i have a coil in so They wanted to check the position of the coil and then remove it because of risk of late miscarriage. When they could see no sign of pregnancy in my womb they went hunting and found something in my left fallopian tube which is diagnostic of a ectopic. This is what it said on my scan report which i think is the relevant bit 'within the left adnexa, posterior to the left ovary there is a 5.4x5x7mm anechoic cystic structure with a thick hyperechoic ring.'

P.s. I feel so bad for you having endured 2 weeks of this uncertainty already. I feel very grateful that I got such a firm diagnosis so quickly.

Ladyflower23 this is confusing your right!
I have had an internal scan that was the first thing they did for me but couldn't see anything at all.
Maybe that's why they can't give me an ultimate diagnosis.

How You feeling? I still don't feel too bad started with some tummy aches/ pains but that's it really. I'm going to ask today although I don't want to be unwell it's worrying me I feel pretty fine!

@Jolie23 I'm pretty much the same as you. I'm a bit sluggish and some mild on/off tummy pains. Still getting the pain when I sit down but that's it. Bleeding has almost stopped. Doesn't feel like there's much happening. Hope your appointment goes well (as well as an appointment for this situation can!)

@ladyflower23 so went for my check up today, and my bloods have gone up to 1004 from 700odd 😔 they did say hormone levels can rise on the first check up.. But I just feel its one bad thing after another.
Really hoping Thursday brings me some good news!!

Hi @Jolie23 sorry to hear your levels are still going up. They said to me that might happen aswell. Hopefully they will be moving in the right direction at your next test. Did you have to wait for the results or did they call you with them later? And did you mention about the lack of pain? It's stressful not really knowing if it's working isn't it!

@Jolie23 I hope you don't mind me jumping in on this thread and asking how you are? I've been looking at threads for PUL as sad to say I'm in the same situation but it's a little bit of a strange experience for me-sharp pains in one side Saturday - I was due to ovulate this Thursday so took an ovulation test, in case I was early - it was a strong positive - something didn't feel right so I followed up with a cheapy pregnancy test to my surprise it came out a strong positive, strange as I got my period (what I thought was a period) on the 28th of last month - two weeks ago!!! I'd also done a test just before my period was due and it came out negative ... because of this I ended up going to EPU for a scan- they couldn't see any sign of problems or a sac - my bloods came back low level at only 490 yesterday and I've had a repeat test this morning - just awaiting a call with the results which is Nerve racking to say the least! No pain now or bleeding since two weeks ago so I'm completely baffled - fingers crossed for you and just wanted you to know that you're not on your own- the not knowing is really really cruel 💐xxx

I ended up needing to have the methotrexate as I had a bleed one week after when I should have been due on my Period it lasted a whole week where I also lost clots.
I then stopped and have had no more since at all not even a period.

I had some minor pain a few weeks in but nothing unbearable!

My hormone levels Continued to rise but not enough for a viable pregancy I tried to wait to see if they wpyld decrease naturally but they didn't and consistently went up everytime I had my bloods done.
I'm am high risk in pregnancy anyway and consultantcy led due to some health problems a few years ago. This is my second pregnancy I am lucky to have one healthy son.

@Jolie23 thanks so much for the update! Hope you are recovering well from the treatment? 🤞🏼 my news wasn't great - I had bleeding a few days after my period like you, but assumed that it was my period and didn't take much notice till I had twinges in my side two weeks later, my levels started at 403 on sat lunchtime then 648 on early Tuesday - so not good news as the rise wasn't enough, I'm due back at the hospital for a third test tomorrow, it's so hard having to go alone atm as well!! Yesterday I had pulling cramps in my uterus and since then watery brown discharge (sorry tmi😳) so it looks like ectopic I think, like you I'm hoping that the pregnancy will resolve itself so all depends on the levels tomorrow - it's so mad, after trying to conceive for seven months now praying for my Hcg levels to go down !!! 😥 xxx

Luan82 I no this feeling. We were so happy with our positive test but then to be told it wasn't viable and all the back and fourth alone you just want it to be over without meaning to sound heartless... And then you can focus on moving on and hopefully trying again
We cannot try now again until September/October time 😭.
I still haven't been discharged back again tomorrow for what I hope it my last blood test.
I also needed a Covid swab during this process incase I needed to bd admitted
If it helps I had prepared myself to feel unwell after the injection and I was completely fine apart from feeling really tired and headaches which was probably just from the emotional stress of it all.. Just incase you need it it's been positive for me in that it has worked and done its job! Really hoping you won't though and they decrease by themselves
Take care of you it's not an easy thing to go through and even now about 6/7 weeks into the process I still have days where I feel really down and sad about it! Allow yourself to do whatever you need to

@Jolie23 - thanks so much, it's so reassuring to hear that you coped well with the meds, I've had my bloods done just waiting for the call they did say that they were progressing with passing my case to a consultant though now that I've had three tests which is a good thing. Time is such an important factor for us too as I turn 38 in December which is why it makes the three month wait such a blow - on the positive side I don't feel as tired as I did at the weekend but I do have sore boobs and waves of nausea - no pain either atm - thanks so much for taking the time to reply it's reassuring to hear from someone who understands 🌸💔xxx

I hope you don't mind me jumping on this thread but I have just read through all your messages as I am going through this atm. It's my first pregnancy. 7 weeks pregnant yesterday.
Just wondering how everyone is doing?
I'm currently at home in quite abit of discomfort (lower back and pelvic area) but also shooting pains in my bum. Very little bleeding atm.
It started on Friday with a very dark brown discharge so called Dr to to check if this was ok etc...they booked me in for an early scan (for Monday 11th) but yesterday morning suddenly I had the most horrendous pains and I felt very faint and was being sick so I went to a&e. My temperature was 34.8 and I felt awful. They soon got me on a drip with pain relief, fluids and anti sickness. Within an hour I felt better but still not great so I had an internal scan which showed nothing they checked womb and tubes but couldn't find anything but my hgc level in bloods was 370 so told me PUL. I'm going back in tomorrow for another blood test.
I was hoping that I would start bleeding more and my body would sort itself out but no hope of that yet.
