First pregnancy, missed miscarriage. Natural or medical management?

First pregnancy after TTC for over 2 years. I have PCOS and endo. I had a scan yesterday and was told I'd had a missed miscarriage measuring 7 weeks. With everything going on they're not offering surgical treatment. I'm pretty crampy and have brown spotting so I feel like maybe the miscarriage is close but who knows. I imagine the medical management being brutal but I don't think I can wait and go about life until it happens naturally. Any advice?

I am going through the same although it is my second pregnancy, we have a 2.5 year old already. It will be 2 weeks on Sunday since I had a scan and the same, 7 weeks and no heartbeat. I have left it this long and will be asking for medical management next Monday if nothing has happened as I have had no spotting at all. I’m sick of waiting now. Hope it happens quickly for you and you can start to recover x

@littletandme I'm so sorry you're in the same position 😢 I rang my EPU and I'm booked in on Monday for medical. My cramps are uncomfortable and I don't want to have this for weeks before anything happens. I kind of just want to get it over with as horrid as that sounds. I hope everything goes okay for you too x

When I spoke the my EPU they were just so dismissive of anything but natural management for 2-3 weeks at least, I think mainly because of covid but also just speaking like they were certain it would happen naturally in that time when clearly it hasn’t. So frustrating x

@littletandme mine were the same. They told me no surgical option and it would be best to wait naturally but if I really wanted medical it would be okay. I explained I didn't think my mental health would hold out if I had to wait weeks and they seemed a little bothered but they booked me anyway. As it is I'm now bleeding a little and passed a few tiny clots so I don't think I'll make it to the appointment. I just hope it doesn't get too bad as they warned me the doctors at our local hospital are moved to a further hospital over the Bank Holiday weekend because of covid so I'd have to go there if I was having problems! 😟

@Stabal how are you getting on now?

Stabal · 08/05/2020 09:19

@Poppy10121 I'm in quite a bit of pain but the bleeding is still light

@Stabal thinking of you, it’s a horrible situation to be in. I hope it all happens naturally for you but just wanted to reassure you that the medical management will be ok if you do choose to go that route on Monday. I had it a few weeks ago and I don’t regret it. Good luck Flowers

@Poppy10121 thank you. I'm so sorry you had to go through it too 💕

This happened to me last year - my only advice would to be make sure you're comfortable with some strong painkillers. You'll know when it's over. I know it sounds gross but check the products when they come out just so you can tell your EPU what happened. They asked me before scanning me to check all products of conception had come out. Sending love xxx

@kidsareok thank you, I will definitely keep a close eye. So sorry you've had the same experience, life is cruel sometimes ❤️
