So 4 weeks ago at 9 weeks I had a miscarriage, D&C.
I had the coil put in at the same time because after the stillborn I had and now this I couldn't bare to put myself through it anymore,
They told me to check for my strings after 3 weeks, I couldn't find them, and talking to the GP was ridiculous, no help at all. I noticed I started feeling exhausted, and so I found a old pregnancy test and took it, the line is noticeably there but very faint.

now I'm worried that its left over hcg or retained tissue? or could it be a new pregnancy? is it even possible with the coil?

It could be left over hcg, I still had a strong positive nearly 6 weeks later and, despite bleeding heavily for the whole time, the fertility clinic actually re scanned me to see, as it had been a twin pregnancy, if one baby still remained. Sadly not.

However it could be a new pregnancy, coils can be expelled and women have even become pregnant with coil in situ. Sometimes the coil strings curl round and stick to the cervix, it may be easier to feel tomorrow, try when you are in the shower maybe.

If you are concerned re retained tissue could you contact the unit where you had your d & c?

I’m sorry for your losses Flowers
