WARNING TMI !

Hi everyone this is my first time registering with mumsnet I always read the threads when I need information and can’t seem to find it anywhere else ! I am a mum of 2 and I was expecting baby no3 I was supposed to be 11 weeks, we went for a private scan at 8 weeks to see how baby was doing we were told baby was only measuring at 5 weeks so 2 weeks later I had my first booking appointment with the midwife and on the way I started bleeding then led to clots got sent to EPU for an emergency scan and was told baby still only measured at 5 weeks we were told we had lost the baby absolutely gutted ! I was sent home and told to come back in 1 week later for another scan but this one was the confirmation of miscarriage scan I have since been heavy bleeding and past a few clots but I was in a lot of pain and felt like I had to push (like in Labour) and I pushed out a huge mass it’s like a we sack and a load of tissue (looks like flesh coloured tripe) disgusting I know but was wondering if someone could tell me if this is my baby as I’ve never had a miscarriage before I saved it from the toilet because I couldn’t bring myself to flush it down the loo if I was my baby ? I have pictures if anyone could help me out

Hi @Danniellew20 I'm really sorry but yes it does sound like you've miscarried. I've experienced this twice, but passed the pregnancy around 9 weeks both times. Similar experience to you with the contraction like pains, once I'd passed the sac the pains stopped.

Are you due a follow up at the early pregnancy unit? When I went back they checked everything had passed. Go gently, it's a real shock ❤️

Yes I’m due another scan on Wednesday for confirmation I knew the pregnancy had ended when I saw the clots absolutely gutted , I don’t know what to do with the sack I don’t know if I can just flick it down the loo any suggestions on what to do with it please 🥺

I'm sorry. You could take it with you on Wednesday. Or I have heard people bury it in a plant or their garden.

So sorry OP that’s awful for you . You could bury it with a nice flower in the garden , or show them the photo when you go for the scan for confirmation they’ll be able to tell you. I don’t know much about MC so not sure if I’d be any help with regards to confirming x

So ver sorry Flowers When this happened to me, I wrapped the baby in a silk handkerchief, which I buried in the put of a large jasmine plant in our garden.

I think I will bury him/her with a beautiful flower in the garden 🥰
