Think I'm miscarrying.....can I just let it happen naturally?

Hi all

I am 6+2 today and started bleeding this afternoon.

Is it okay if I literally just wait and see what happens? Then test in 1 week and then 2 and wait for a negative? Then if no negative appears, arrange a scan?

I had a miscarriage last year, one twin at 6 weeks, and the other at 12. With the first loss, they couldn't see me to scan until 7 weeks. It is now such a palace to get a scan....confirm pregnancy with GP, get scan referral, trip to hospital etc etc.

Can I just wait it out?? I can't imagine this is exactly the same scenario as last time where there was originally 2 babies?

I've a large family and never bled until the last pregnancy.

I'm 42 so that seems to be the differing factor with my previous pregnancies, plus a different partner xx

I can't see why not, but you should be able to call your local midwife or early pregnancy unit and ask, I'm sure they wouldn't mind.

You could try a self-referral to EPU (not sure if they do this in all areas though?)
Or at 6 weeks you should be ok to just let nature do its thing. A lot of women wouldn't even have realised they're pregnant by that point.

Yes, it's ok to wait it out, especially if you have had one before as you know what to expect. Obviously you need to get help if you start bleeding huge amounts, get a temperature or have a foul smelling discharge.

The bleeding has slowed to almost nothing, I have ordered some pregnancy tests to test next week.

I feel physically fine, just hate being in limbo xx

Update.

The bleeding stopped last night. No clots, no pain. Feeling reasonable confident that sex caused the bleeding.

Also my boobs seem to have grown huge tonight.

We are going to hold out until next week when I'll be 8 weeks and book a private scan

A scan yesterday showed a very happy baby xx
