Large yolk sac, no fetal pole or hb, week later something changed

I had my first dating scan, they did an internal and told me they could see a really big yolk sac no fetal pole or Hb and I was measuring around 7+4 weeks. They sent me for another scan 1 week later and they did an internal again, but this time they saw a fetal pole only measuring 4mm with no HB. They told me in terms of progression that was something they would like to see, however they would have liked to see a HB. She told me that she couldn’t say whether this was going to be a good pregnancy. I have not seen a sac that is so big with such a small fetal pole. Could this be late development? Or just false hope? Has anything happened like this to anyone else? I’ve had no bleeding or cramping, had pregnancy symptoms. This is my second pregnancy, I had a scan with my first at 7+5 weeks and could see a HB.

I have another scan next week to see if I have any improvement, I don’t have much hope:(

I'm currently going through a miscarriage, I was measuring a week and a half behind (first scan at 6 and a half weeks due to precious ectopic) and there appeared to be some progress at my following scan but it was still behind. I read lots of stories online where people were behind and caught up but for many, including me, it was the first sign that something was wrong. So sorry you're going through this, the waiting is so hard. How many weeks were you expecting to be?

I’m so sorry that you are going through a miscarriage. It’s so heartbreaking but I believe everything happens for a reason so try to keep positive! I am unsure of how many weeks I actually am as I was on the pill and didn’t have periods. The sac was measuring around 7 and half weeks 1 week ago, with a large yolk sac inside. The following week progress was made and they saw a fetal pole measuring only 4mm. But I’ve read stories where the baby has caught up being a week behind. I don’t think it’s good news though I just don’t see how this could work. I want to try and keep positive but I also don’t want to fill myself with false hope either.

I’ve being trying to find stories but can’t find any similar to mine.

Thank you for replying, I wish you all the best, and again so sorry for your loss.

Thank you. I have definitely heard of things being behind and then catching up, and if you aren't sure of dates as you say then it's even more of a possibility. I hope the time until your next scan goes quickly and it's a positive outcome for you xx
