Miscarriage at 7 weeks. Bleeding started and suddenly stopped.

Has anyone else had this?

I went for a scan last week when I thought I was 7 weeks due to consistent light spotting most days for 3 weeks that was getting a bit worse. Confirmed that it was caused by ectopic cervix I think it's called. Red and sore cervix caused by pregnancy hormones. Cervix was closed.

Also had a scan though which showed the baby to be about 6 weeks in size and the sac was an irregular shape. Also no visible heartbeat yet. Told pregnancy didn't look viable but to go back in a week for another scan to see.

So for 5 days since then I've had the usual spotting and just in limbo waiting. This morning at work I went to the loo, wiped and the tissue was covered in a lot of dark red fresh blood. I went home, cried etc and have had cramps since on and off but no more bleeding since then.

Cramps are getting worse again this evening. Is this normal? Will the bleeding probably pick up again? Absolutely nothing at the moment. Not sure if I should call the hospital, wait until scan booked for Thursday or not go to the Thursday scan at all.

Would be interested to see if this has happened to anyone else and what happened next?

All the love xxx

suddenlypanicked · 13/12/2018 09:52

What time is your scan x

lindsey1990 · 13/12/2018 11:40

How are you @chikiTIKI? I had my scan at 8.15 and it unfortunately confirmed my fears. On the plus side, it has happened naturally.
It just wasn't meant to be 💔
I pray you have better news xx

ChikiTIKI · 13/12/2018 13:11

Sorry for your news @lindsey1990
I had the same news although it's not happened naturally. Was going to have an operation on Monday but then I decided to have medical management on Saturday. I hope it happens on its own before then.

Sorry for your loss. I hope you're feeling as OK as you could be this afternoon xxxx

Very sorry to hear this @chikiTIKI. I am feeling okay at the minute, just trying to stay occupied.
Hope it happens before for that for you.
Stay strong xx

suddenlypanicked · 13/12/2018 14:36

Sending you both strength xxxx

ChikiTIKI · 13/12/2018 14:52

Thanks for your support @suddenlypanicked and @lindsey1990

I know I will be ok, I just hope the hospital treatment isn't traumatic. Hopefully it happens before then. I can always hope xxxx

So sorry to hear sad news from both of you. My scan is tomorrow and I am sure heading the same way. Back pain, period cramps and more bleeding with small clots today. Having been here before I'll be begging for medical management.

My best advice is to take really good care of yourselves, get some nice food and drink in, watch some trash TV, talk to friends and family. I found it helped chatting to people that have been through it especially where it had a happy ending.

p.s. I had a miscarriage before in 2016, conceived 2 months later and now am so lucky to have a beautiful baby girl of 17 months, so there are happy endings x

SootySweepIt · 13/12/2018 15:02

I didn't mean that to sound patronising or anything - reading it back I see it could come across like that!

It will be OK x

lindsey1990 · 13/12/2018 16:01

That's great to hear! It's always one of those things.. you never believe it will happen to you until it does! It's great to hear you had a positive outcome as I don't intend on giving up and can't wait until the day I have our 2nd and final addition to my family, will just be a little more weary next time!! Xx
Hope your holding out @chikiTIKI xxx

ChikiTIKI · 13/12/2018 19:09

Good luck for tomorrow @SootySweepIt and thank you for your reassuring message. I know things will get better.

@lindsey1990 I am ok thanks, and I too want to have one more baby and feel up to trying again in the future.

Please don't read this next bit if you don't like gross things...

I've been having more cramps and small clots this evening. I am hoping and praying I will fully miscarry before Saturday. Hopefully tonight. I just went to the loo and when I wiped there was some ( sorry for tmi) really thick stuff that looked like a bunch of old glue, full of tiny little clear balls like frog spawn. This is even more tmi so stop reading if you need to.... But there was a bigger one and I squeezed it and water came out. It wasn't big enough to be the sac. But no idea what it was.....

It just happened again with a huge blood clot attached to it, massive.

Not in that much pain really. Hoping this is it. Think I will sleep much better knowing it's over.

Sounds similar to what I had! Mine is dackering off now, thank God! I barely had any pain either so hopefully this is it for you xx

ChikiTIKI · 13/12/2018 20:35

Yes hopefully this is it. Lots of big long clots every time I go for a wee.

Changed to incontinence underwear. It's so comfy. Will be using this next time I have a baby instead of those annoying disposable knickers and maternity pads. I actually bought tena lady pants for my first birth but never used them and gave them to my grandma.

Hope I can make it to my baby's first nativity tomorrow. She's only 14 months but she is going to be a shepherd :) my mum made her an outfit out of a tea towel.

My little boy is 4 and has his show/singing and christmas party at pre-school tomorrow so I have that to look forward to! All the best for the future, hope to see a positive thread from you when the times right! Xx

ChikiTIKI · 14/12/2018 09:00

Aww cute have fun at the Christmas show @lindsey1990

I think I had the miscarriage last night. Going for a scan this afternoon to confirm. In the mean time my baby is in her shepherd suit and we are going to have a fun morning :) xxxx

As suspected I've also lost my little astronaut, looks like he/she never really got going. Hope you're both feeling OK today Flowers

lindsey1990 · 14/12/2018 13:38

Sorry to hear that @sootysweepit
I hope your as okay as you can be. I am feeling okay today, just kept busy although I just want to sleep! Xx

suddenlypanicked · 14/12/2018 14:18

I hope you are both ok xxx

ChikiTIKI · 14/12/2018 20:05

I'm so sorry @SootySweepIt I hope you've got some good support and are doing as OK as possible.

I had another scan today, confirmed that the baby and its.... Accessories? Are all gone, but the lining is still thick, almost 25mm. I've decided not to have medical management since it's just the lining left now, even though I was told it is classed as an incomplete miscarriage. Going to wait for a week and have another scan to check, then decide. Going on a long walk tomorrow. That seemed to get things going yesterday so I hope it helps. Barely had any bleeding at all today. Almost nothing.

lindsey1990 · 14/12/2018 23:42

So strange how things are so different.. I nearly stopped bleeding.. or I thought I had but now it's back with a vengeance. Yet they said mine was practically all gone.. hope the walks do the trick. I'll be pleased when it's all over if I'm honest xx

ChikiTIKI · 15/12/2018 17:01

How are you feeling now @lindsey1990 ?

I've been bleeding quite heavily this afternoon. Only went on a very short walk as weather was miserable and so so cold. Managed to avoid pain killers but have just had a mulled wine.

Hope you're doing ok xxx

lindsey1990 · 15/12/2018 17:45

I am starting to feel better thank you. My husband and I are going to his sister's n her husband's tonight, going to have a few Gins and a good laugh!
Hope you're doing okay? I thought I'd stopped again but it's still on and off bleeding, just like a period now. I have been looking into it as a thought popped in my head earlier, and going to ask Monday when I go for another blood test, but don't knowing it could have anything to do with my blood type.. I'm O negative. When I had my son, he was O positive so I had the injection to stop my body attacking future pregnancies but when I've read up on it, it only says it reduces the risk and that future pregnancies must be closely monitored.. which I didn't know.. see what they say I guess.. Just dont want a repeat of this again if I can help it xx

lindsey1990 · 15/12/2018 17:47

Also very wet and miserable here.. I'm East - England x

ChikiTIKI · 16/12/2018 13:31

@lindsey1990 yes definitely a good idea to ask about that. They asked me my blood type for that reason when I was doing the consent forms for medical management (which I didn't end up having).

So even though they told me it was just lining left, the placenta came out last night. It was quite big, about 7-8 cm. Was telling my friend who is a midwife about it this morning and she wondered if I was further along than I thought.

Was on crèche today at church and after the teaching we sang a song that I had been singing to the baby. Sang it to my daughter when I was pregnant with her too. Was very hard not to cry. My little girl took her first steps yesterday and can do about 8 in a row now so that's been a good distraction.

Enjoy your gin :) I had some mulled wine last night it was lovely xxxx
