Worried sick about how my cycle is since miscarriage 9 months ago

I had a miscarriage 9months ago at 8 weeks. Before my miscarriage my periods were extremely regular.
Emotionally I’m doing okay now me and my partner are still ttc I’m trying to be positive but periods since the miscarriage have been crazy, my first period after was normal but every single month since then they have been coming 4/5/6/7 days earlier each month and I’m baffled. I have also put on a lot of weight since and I’ve always been thin never been able to gain weight. My moods are quite bad aswell whether I’m on my period or not I can be quite miserable which has never been like me.

Well I guess I’m just petrified there’s something wrong with me, still ttc all these months later. If anyone has any advice it would be greatly appreciated, I’m kinda going out of my mind atm lool

I had a miscarriage 3 months ago at 8 weeks. Since then I’ve only ovulated once. I’ve been going to acupuncture to try to regulate hormones and help me relax. It is common to take a bit to get back to normal after a miscarriage but I’d see if your GP can arrange for your bloods to be done if this has been going on for 9 months. It might put your mind at rest or identify an issue that can be resolved. Good luck

Hi thanks for replying & sorry for your loss. I went to my gp and told her very briefly my periods were not back to normal but she told me it’s just what happens after miscarriage, I’m going to make an appointment and demand bloods and a scan to put my mind at rest like you said. Its frustrating I just keep wondering what could be causing it

I feel like this could be me too. I’m three months down the line and unsure what the situation is but technically discharged with no follow up... I’m no longer TTC though and I’m booked in for the implant in December to see if that regulates them but to be honest I’ve not got a clue! I’m shocked at how much self directed care we have to do post loss x

It is quite bad, I’ve pretty much heard the same things over and over, when I had a scan after my miscarriage to make sure everything was gone naturally all I was told is that it can take up to 3 months for my periods to regulate and that miscarriages just happen and It doesn’t mean anything is wrong. That’s not much help at all, I’m thinking of booking a private fertility scan just to rule out what I can but otherwise I don’t think I have the energy right now to be back and forth from appointments, but I will see how it goes

The nurse at EPU told me you can be more fertile for 6 months after pregnancy/ miscarriage but that obviously isn’t the case for me or you as I’m 3 months in and things aren’t as they should be. Which is upsetting when I just want to be pregnant again.

I know it’s a horrible feeling. Every month I feel it’s my month and I could be pregnant then my period will show up out of nowhere and it makes me feel so down. But i like to think our bodies are still healing and in time we will get our happy ending. Stress is a big factor aswell so I do try not to overthink, it’s extremely hard but i truly believe the more we relax and stop obsessing over becoming pregnant, it will happen. Easier said than done I know. Let’s try and be positive!! x
