Help - miscarrying do I need to go to the hospital?

Hi,
Wondering if anyone could advise me.
I'm 8 weeks pregnant. I had a private scan yesterday as my symptoms had gone and it confirmed my fear. Baby only measuring 5 weeks and no heartbeat.
I was told to come back in a week to confirm but to go to hospital if I experience bleeding or cramping in the mean time.
Ive just started bleeding. I'm on my own with a toddler and would rather just miscarry at home with painkillers. I would really rather not to anywhere as it's just too stressful and I cant see what they can do, i know its miscarriage.
Do I need to go in? Am I putting myself at risk?
Thank you in advance.

No lovley, unless you soak through a pad in under an hour, stay home. Only need to go if heammoraging. I'm sorry OP, take care of yourself x

It's ok to stay home if that's what you feel you want to do. No need to go in unless you are filling a pad in under an hour, or have severe pain or fever. It will most likely be like an extremely heavy period. Be kind to yourself and keep up your fluids. Think about some Spatone or Floradix as you might feel a bit depleted afterwards. Horrible thing to go through. Sending a virtual hug.

Thank you for your kind posts and advice. After a week of worrying obsessively that I had lost the baby I just want it to be over now. :(

So sorry OP. I don’t blame you for wanting it to happen at home. Do you have another adult that could come and stay with you. It could be a long process. Sending hugs.

I agree with the other ladies, you only need to go in if you're soaking through a pad in less than an hour or in severe pain. With my miscarrige recently I was soaking through a pad every 5 minutes plus 3 layers of clothing so I got rushed in, but I was 12 weeks and 5 days along and they had to remove the pregnancy. Your body will most likely just do its own thing and pass it itself but if you experience excessive bleeding and very big clots that means your body is struggling to pass it and you need emergency treatment. Just try and rest as much as you can, drink plenty of fluids and eat when possible and if there's anyone who can help with your toddler then definetely let them. Sending hugs and hope you recover soon xxx
