Is it normal to be showing as Not Pregnant so soon after TFMR?

I'm really surprised. Had a termination three weeks ago at 17 weeks as the baby was very ill and last night I decided to test and got a Not Pregnant result.

I am obviously delighted and hoping to be able to TTC. I just wondered if this was normal or whether it seemed very quick to anyone else?

I've not been in exactly the same situation but first off wanted to say I'm so sorry for your recent loss Flowers

At 17 weeks your HCG will have been lower than, say, at 8-10 weeks, because it decreases once the first trimester is over. This could theoretically explain the faster than expected drop, given the gestation.

In addition, the digital test threshold is around 25 MIU, so it could be that a more sensitive test (e.g. 10 MIU) would still be showing a line (but nevertheless, your hcg is clearly very low so I wouldn't worry about this element of things - in my experience with 4 miscarriages it's the last 50 MIU that seems to take the longest to decrease because it halves at roughly the same rate that it doubles in early pregnancy).

At any rate ... I'm glad that it has dropped so fast and send you warmest wishes for a fast conception and healthy pregnancy next time.

I had no idea HCG went down after 12 weeks! I just assumed it went higher and higher and higher.

I've unfortunately also had three other miscarriages, all before 12 weeks and each time my HCG has taken an absolute age to go down. 6 weeks or so, so yep I am really pleased and I guess I wait for my period now.
