Ectopic pregnancy - how long to recover?

I've had emergency surgery this morning for an ectopic pregnancy - all a bit of a shock, as I only did the HPT two days ago. They removed the Fallopian tube in a laparoscopy.

Does anyone have any experience of this and can tell me how long it takes to physically recover please?

Hi @Tandemitis
Sorry that you've had to go through this.
I had an ectopic in January 2014. Stayed in hospital for two nights. I was sore for a good few days after that (hobbling and hurt to laugh-not that I had much to laugh at but my DH did try a few times) and gradually got stronger day by day. I took three weeks off work all in.
Wishing you a speedy recovery.

I suggest you watch some of the youtube videos by Channon Rose Vlogs, she is suffering from ectopic twins, in the abdomen and behind the uterus

Sorry you've had to go through this. I had one a few years back but further along so when they couldn't sort it by laporoscopy they had to open me up too (laparotomy). I was in hospital a week and off work nearly 2 months as the wound got infected and didn't knit together properly. I was sore for quite a while immediately after and had difficulty walking very far.

Rest up and take it easy

I had 5 weeks off in total, but it took much longer emotionally. Be kind to yourself. I also had a tube removed and conceived DS 1st month of trying (after waiting 3 months).
