Miscarriage - How long did it take you to conceive afterwards?

I posted at the end of April to say that after 7 years TTC, I was pregnant naturally. Sadly we went for our 12 week scan on Wednesday to be told that the baby was only 7 weeks 3 days in size and no heartbeat. We are slowly coming to terms with this as I wait for a second scan to follow protocol next Thursday or a miscarriage in the meantime.

For those of you who have been through miscarriage (sadly there's so many of you) how long did it take you to conceive afterwards? I'm searching for hope at the end of this dark tunnel

Xx

We were advised to wait (probably to get over it emotionally as much as anything), but I got pregnant 1st time of trying every time!

Sorry to hear you are going through this. I miscarried in November at 8-9 weeks pregnant. I am now 24 weeks pregnant having had my last period in January.

Sorry you are going through this. I remember someone saying if they didn't have their mc then they wouldn't have had X (rainbow baby) and I kind of feel the same now - my baby after mc I adore so much I can't imagine my life without her (obviously I would have felt the same with my lost baby but still..) I conceived her after 3 months of trying after my first period. Hope you have good news soon

I'm very sorry to hear about your loss. I've been where you are. After my first mmc I got pregnant 3 months later, but that pregnancy also ended in a mmc. After the second mmc I fell pregnant within a few weeks. I wouldn't wait before starting ttc, it can be easier to get pregnant after a mc.

After my first miscarriage was confirmed ex and I went out for dinner with friends that night and had sex. That date was the estimated date of conception for now teenage dd. We had decided we were going to keep trying right away but had just assumed my body would get back to normal and I'd have a period etc but it never happened because I was already pregnant.
I never actually did a pregnancy test for 3 months it was ex that suggested it because I hadn't had a period.

I conceived my dd six months after my first mmc. Just after what would have been my original due date.

After my second mmc in December it only took me six weeks to conceive again (although sadly that pregnancy ended at 14 weeks due to chromosomal issues). My friend who mc around the same time as me in December conceived again about two weeks after her ERPC.

I conceived ds 6 weeks after first miscarriage at 6 weeks - then skip 8 years - had mmc in October and conceived again in January - so three months later - lost that pregnancy at 12 weeks at end of march then was pregnancy again 6 weeks later but sadly yesterday lost that pregnancy again at six weeks :-(

ACFW2016 · 15/06/2017 09:42

Oh @conkerchops that's terribly sad, I'm so sorry to read all that you've gone through. Today I should be nearly 14 weeks but instead I'm going to my second scan to confirm it's not grown anymore / definitely doesn't have heartbeat but I already know this.

Thanks for your reply and sending you a huge sad as we both deal with what life is throwing at us xx

@ACFW2016

So sorry to hear this has happened to you, especially after the years spent TTC

I had the exact same experience just over a year ago- we found out at the dating scan I was 12+6

We've been TTC since July last year, didn't wait for my first period, we just got on with it esp as I was about to turn 38

Sadly we've not managed to conceive yet (always fell pregnant straight after coming off the combined pill!) and have had bloods etc via my GP

Good luck with management of the MMC & hope you don't have too long to wait before a BFP

Sorry to hear of your loss OP.

It took me 2 months to conceive after surgery for a mmc. Sadly, that pregnancy has just ended in mc too. Naturally this time, however.

It's a long journey. Don't rush yourself and take all the time you need x
