Period pains this soon after loss? Any advice appreciated..

Hi all,

I'm not sure if this is the correct area to post this, so apologies if not..

I gave birth to my sleeping angel, Edward, almost three weeks ago now.

I have been having post partum bleeding ever since, although it has dramatically lessened this last week and I have been having more of what looks like discharge and a little bit of blood (probably a teaspoon full and that is the total amount).

Today however I'm experiencing the typical dull ache of what feels like the start of a period. I'm getting some watery brown/blood discharge which is the first time I've had this.

Is it possible that I'm having a period again so soon after giving birth? All the symptoms I'm having seem to be pointing to period but it seems extremely soon?

Does anyone have any experience/advice?

Hi Jenny - how far gone were you when you lost Edward?
I had my first period 4 weeks after the loss - it might be perfectly normal but don't sit and worry. Call a midwife or doctor to ease your mind if it doesn't seem right?

I was 38 + 2 weeks :(

The pains seemed to subside this afternoon but I feel like they're slowly coming back.

I'll see how I go overnight and possibly call someone tomorrow.
