Hi, i am.being referred to my local NHS RMC and have no idea what to expect, was wondering if anyone could advise?

I have had an mmc at 9 weeks, stillbirth at 27 weeks and mmc at 14 weeks where baby had suspected pataus awaiting results

Slightly off topic but my stillborn son had a condition called PFFD, when it was discovered at 20 weeks scan i had to have an amnio and im almost certain dp and i had blood test and were karotyped however dp says he doesnt think he was. It was almost two years ago and we were going through a lot at the time so i think he may just have forgotten. has anybody else had blood tests at an amnio and the babys father too?

@gingerbreadmam - the hospital advised the tests and appointment would take up to 12 weeks to come through so no point in chasing until then I don't think: they advised not to TTC in that time incase they need to start any treatment prior to me being pregnant. We've actually been trying for a few months but it hasn't happened anyway so doesn't look like it will before my appointment but at least I won't feel like I wasted time if nothing comes up from the blood tests.

How are you feeling about the TTC again? Xx

Hi there, new too this forum but have just suffered my 3rd miscarriage 😔 Sorry to hear you ladies have been through the same. After my 2nd miscarriage in January this year we paid to have some test done privately and all came back clear, thou reading this think that some have been missed and the sticky blood one was only done once and not twice 6 weeks apart. Anyhow we was given the all clear and told we could try again and got caught very quick but ended up miscarrying again. I am 33 had one miscarriage 4 years ago and then went on to have a little boy but have had a further 2 miscarriages since Jan. Do you think there is something wrong or just bad luck?

Gingerbreadmam · 08/05/2017 22:00

maybe fate stepping in nicola? maybe ur body is holding off for the results?

urm i dont know. weve not talkes about it really other than dp saying he would prefer me not to go back on contraception. had to go for map yesterday as dtd sat n got carried away. checked ovia and it was day before ovulation. second cycle after mmc so i crapped myself. i do not want to be pregnant at the min.

shiva i really dont know. u could try taking baby aspirin next time u fall and see if that helps?

It's scary isn't it @gingerbreadmam when I got my bfp this time my first feelings was fear. Fingers crossed for you that everything is okay next time.

I did take baby aspirin and a high dose of folic Acid as a precaution but still miscarried - heartbroken

Gingerbreadmam · 08/05/2017 22:16

oh shiva thats shit! i forgot to say sorry for your losses too. if you can get a referral theres no harm in trying. i would maybe try finding out what the nhs test and comparing it to yhe tests youve had?

ive seen lots of stuff on here and things i.would pay attention to.are thyroid, vitamin d and i think vitamin b12.

i was on baby aspiring? 5mg folic acid about 4 or 5 months before ttc and throughout pregnancy and progesterone in the end. didnt stop pataus! its so shit.

if i knew every mc i could have surgical management i would be brave but the minute i see any spotting i just go to pieces panicking about when / if it's going to happen.

So sorry for our loses @shiva83, I also took baby aspirin with my last pregnancy but it didn't help. I guess because you have had a baby then that is a good sign things can go right but it's understanding why it isn't at the moment.

@gingerbreadmam - I'm feeling like fate is playing a big part and it will only happen when it is supposed to. I just hope it's right the next time around. Xx

Gingerbreadmam · 09/05/2017 10:41

nicola hold onto that thought. it's good to try and keep positive.

When i spoke to my gp she seemed confident people in our position will have a successful outcome eventually. That will keep me going!

Thanks @nicolaC17 and I'm sorry again for your loses. I really hope all goes well next time. My GP also said the same - she knows lots of women that have had multiple miscarriages but they usually get there in the end Smile

Gingerbreadmam · 13/05/2017 13:57

Hi @gingerbreadman,

Glad to hear your appointment has come through. I've heard nothing....it will be 11 weeks on Monday and they said up to 12 so I'll be calling next week.

Keep me updated with how things go won't you. Xx

usedtorun · 19/05/2017 22:34

Question - I've had 2 early miscarriages plus an ectopic - any ideas whether I qualify for recurrent miscarriage testing or not?

Smurf123 · 20/05/2017 17:39

nicola I'm in and around the same time frame as you and still haven't heard anything other than id get another letter 6 weeks before appointment!
Good luck Gingerbread
usedto I guess it would Count... 2 early mc and a chemical qualified me.., might depend on location though. Sorry for your losses!

Smurf123 · 20/05/2017 17:40

Sorry nicola meant to have your name in bold not strikes out Grin

usedtorun · 20/05/2017 18:29

Thanks @Smurf123 I think I need a trip to the docs to ask really as it sounds like it could be different depending on where in the country I am.

NicolaC17 · 24/05/2017 17:14

@usedtorun -I would think you would qualify as mine was two miscarriage and a PUL and I said I wanted something going, I would definitely see your GP and see what they offer. Not sure where you are based by Tommys offer testing to anyone who has had 2 or more and they have a few places in the midland and London I think. Worth a look.

@smurf123 I called RMC yesterday chasing up my referral and was told it could be another 6-8 weeks as they don't have all my blood tests back! I actually dispare!! It's so frustrating! Xx

Smurf123 · 24/05/2017 19:04

nicola that is just annoying I'm sorry it's taking so long!
All of my blood tests are back as gp surgery was able to give me the results.. Well as much as "All seem normal" except rubella but still no appointment with rmc in sight.. I have a gp appointment booked for next week.. So I'll ask her then if she can give me any idea of how long it will be..

devuskums · 24/05/2017 19:27

Hi all, I have also been referred to the rm clinic. I had 12 vials of blood taken 5 weeks ago and have to wait another 3 weeks then have 11 more taken. Then the week after that I have an appointment to talk through what they have found. The letter says allow 2 hours for the appt...have no idea what it will entail.... my referral was through epu and because of my age (41) was referred after 2 mc.

NicolaC17 · 24/05/2017 21:07

@smurf123 - I hope your RMC doesn't take as long as mine is taking and at least you have your results in the meantime. They wouldn't discuss the ones that were back with me which was annoying!

@devuskums - hopefully they will give you a treatment plan and monitor any future pregnancies. I've been told I'll get a scan every 2 weeks until I'm 12 weeks once I am pregnant again. Xx

devuskums · 24/05/2017 22:04

Thanks Nicola, I have been reading about the reassurance scans...apparently they have a positive effect on outcomes but it is unclear why x good luck to you x
