Can you ovulate if hcg still in system?

I showed all the signs of ovulation at the start of last week (6 days ago) at about 2 weeks post erpc. I wasn't using OPKS incase I got a false result but was tracking my levels of hcg falling with pregnancy tests every couple of days, and they steadily fell every time until zero lines today.
Could I still have ovulated last week if there was still enough hcg in my system to show a faint line?
I'm really happy I tested to zero lines as now I know any line I get if I test in the future should be a positive! just curious about the whole ovulation thing, not sure if anyone has any ideas or own experience of this?

I'm not entirely sure, but I think the HCG levels do need to be zero before your body kicks back into a cycle.
It's such a horrible wait after a miscarriage and few things more soul destroying than a line still showing up weeks after the pregnancy's ended.
I've suffered several miscarriages and I found the earlier on the loss was, the sooner my af returned.
With my loss at 12 weeks it was 5 weeks til af returned (medically managed). With my natural miscarriage af returned bang on 4 weeks after. Then with the D&C miscarriage it took 6 weeks, don't know if this was because it took my body a while longer to register what'd happened.
Wishing you an af super soon and some very fertile months ahead.
